Absolutely perfect stay. We stayed in Altmore in a very large and beautifully furnished apartment, super easy walking distance to the V&A Waterfront (<10mins) and felt 100% safe doing the walk both day and night. Check in was a little tricky to find, but easy (not at all like a prison as some reviews have said - they simply take your photo). There are rules to sign but they're reasonable - no loud parties, no swimming in the canal, no speeding etc. Nothing unusual. You get access keys to multiple security gates, the compound inside is stunning with canal views and multiple swimming pools. Huge balcony with a dining table. We had absolutely everything we needed, fresh towels and bed linen daily, lovely toiletries and friendly, helpful staff.
I would recommend this to anyone staying in Cape Town. We had no issues, easy checkout - just drop the keys off at any security gate.
Pools were clean and plenty of space, occasionally we'd get one to ourselves like a private experience!

Room was ready at 3pm, we were driven to the room and shown around our 2 bed apartment - we absolutely loved it! Apartment was so spacious, gorgeous views and appliances and bathrooms equally as good. The complex is super safe and only a short walk to the waterfront where you'll fine many restaurants and bars! The waterfront village is also minutes walk to the Hotel Silo which was fantastic for an evening meal and drinks, also Hotel One and Only which was worth a visit for a drink. Overall everything was perfect for our stay and I'm so glad we opted to stay in the waterfront village- the location for me was 10 out of 10. Swimming pools were quiet and relaxing! The only slight hiccup was when ordering ubers, some drivers found it difficult to get into the property - as there's various entrances and top notch security- however if your room is located close to reception, order your uber from "Luxhill apartments" and that's usually easier for the drivers to find - you can also stroll across to the V and A waterfront for ubers too. I would definitely visit again!
