Bakubung Bush Lodge is a luxurious safari lodge located in the heart of Pilanesberg National Park, just 10 minutes away from Sun City and two hours from Johannesburg. The lodge offers it's guests comfortable accommodations, incredible game drives and bush walks providing the chance to get up close and personal with the world's big five. There's also great amenities for both couples and families, including; a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa, tennis courts and even a wildlife centre. Hotel information

100 rooms and suites all with free Wi-Fi, separate bathroom area, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, electric safe and mini bar*. 

Standard Queen Rooms have two queen beds and sleep a maximum of 4 adults. 

Half Board: rates are inclusive of breakfast, dinner & 1 game drive per day (guests can choose morning or afternoon).   

Full Board: includes the above plus the addition of lunch. 

Standard Twin Rooms feature two twin beds and sleep a maximum of 4 adults. 

Standard King Rooms feature one king bed and sleep a maximum of 2 adults.

Luxury King Rooms feature one large size king bed and a separate seating area. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

Executive Suites feature a king bed and a bath tub for you to view the surrounding Pilanesberg National Park. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

Conservation Levies are Included in the rates seen for two adults. Children under 12 years old (maximum of 2 children) who accompany parents on an inclusive Game Drive package, would be required to pay Conservation Levies at an additional cost of R40.00 per child per night), including VAT. This is payable upon arrival at the Lodge.

The lodge is suitable for all age groups. There is kiddies play area and a pool with mongoose running around the area. The food was scrumptious

Wow! We check out tomorrow at the end of a 5 night stay at Bakubung and we will miss this place. We cannot fault it. The buffet breakfasts and dinners have a good range of options. The lunches and drinks are reasonably priced. The game drives have been very good with us seeing 4 of the big 5 up close during our first 3 game drives. The close… Read more
Wow! We check out tomorrow at the end of a 5 night stay at Bakubung and we will miss this place. We cannot fault it. The buffet breakfasts and dinners have a good range of options. The lunches and drinks are reasonably priced. The game drives have been very good with us seeing 4 of the big 5 up close during our first 3 game drives. The close proximity to the Bakubung gate is perfect and the opportunity to watch game from our balcony room or the pool bar or while eating at the restaurant is special. This location is perfect, also enabling us to take the lodge shuttle to Sun City (fee required but lots of time options) and arrive there within 15 minutes where we also had a fun day. We feel we have had a very authentic African safari experience in a relaxed environment. The snake show was very informative and if you can be here on a night when the Boma Dinner is offered it is a must do. Read less

I have been coming to Bakubung for more than 25 years. The accomodation and services have been progressively improved but have always been good. The access to the Big 5 Pilanesberg game reserve for self drive game viewing is great, but road quality is variable. Bakubung's game drives with their own rangers are even better.

The rooms and the atmosphere are beautiful, from the leopard print, lush carpet to the slate showers... and there was a bath, a pool and mongooses running around. The animals are so, so close. You don't have to drive far to see them. In open air vehicles, you're as close to nature as you can be. I would recommend this, and I hope to go again.
