They may call themselves a ‘base camp’, but that’s definitely only in spirit — not in style. Thanks to its location, Banff Aspen Lodge is favoured by those wanting to pitch up and experience all the attractions of this popular ski and spa town, from its snow sports to its famous hot springs. But its style is far from ‘base camp’. Smart and swanky, its rustic-meets-chic décor is matched by a series of extra touches that make an ‘outdoorsy’ holiday uncharacteristically comfortable, like complimentary WiFi, ski and bike storage, the coffee and cake-stocked Whitebark Café, and a steam room and sauna for soothing adventure-weary muscles. You can start your day filling up at the breakfast buffet, with its local bacon and sausages and home-baked treats. And you can end it in an outdoor hot tub with a crackling fireplace.

A True Winter Hideaway

From awesome Anthony on reception to our fantastic room, this 6 day stay has been the most relaxing in a long time. Staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is a true gem of a find as you are always a little anxious when booking on line as it is not all as it seems. The Aspen Lodge is exactly as promised and more. Anyone…

Love this place! We stay here every time we visit Banff. We love the location, the rooms are cozy and charming, and the location with a view onto Banff Avenue is splendid. We also love Whitebark Cafe ( the coffee shop attached). Being able to eat breakfast on site is super lovely traveling with kiddos, however, we noticed this time that some of the breakfast staff seemed super unimpressed with their jobs. This was not the case previously. The rest of the hotel staff are lovely, friendly and helpful.

Room was more than we expected! Clean and had everything we needed. The location of the hotel was fantastic! The downtown was so close and convenient for walking.
Would recommend if possible to have slippers or Sandels available for use of the outdoor hot pools. Especially for the winter months to access the outdoor pool area from their rooms.
