Our family recently returned from a stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs over Christmas Week. The experience in Banff exceeded our lofty expectations by a good bit. Banff National Park is a spectacularly beautiful place and we loved spending some time there. My wife and I consider ourselves lucky to be able to visit one of the premier tourism destinations in North America and to mark a big item off our Bucket List.
The four nights we spent at the Fairmont were uniformly excellent. The guest rooms and the public facilities of the hotel were in top notch condition. Also, the courtesy and professionalism of the Fairmont Staff added to our experience at each and every turn. As a 40 year veteran of the hospitality industry myself, I can vouch for the training of their service team. They provided a level of professional service that you don't often experience. During our stay, we observed this consistent service quality
over and over again.
We enjoyed a welcome dinner in the Waldhaus (German Restaurant), then Christmas Dinner in the Vermillion Room and our morning coffee each day at Stock, located in the Fairmont Lobby. All the food and beverages we had were excellent and the service was more than equal to the food quality. We also had, cocktails and appetisers in the Rundle Lounge on our first afternoon. When we were running late for an afternoon Gondola Ride, our bartender jumped in to pack our son's food to go including all the utensils he needed without us asking for it.
Our family also took a full day tour of Banff National Park with Andrew of the Fairmont Activity Staff and he looked out for us all and made sure that we saw some of the most incredible scenery in the area. He quickly adjusted to our family pace and he was exceedingly patient as we took on and off the ice cleats for safely walking across the ice and snow. He also suggested an unscheduled stop late in the day, which ended up providing an opportunity for us to see a mountain ram and some grazing elk.
Finally, our stay was capped off by the experience my wife and daughter had at the afternoon Tea Service in the Rundle Lounge. Their table had a spectacular view of the mountains surrounding the hotel. It was a visit our entire family won't soon forget.
Kudos to the Fairmont Banff Springs!

Every single thing was perfect. All of it. Flowers, champagne, even a birthday cake was arranged by staff. My wife loved the room, the view and the amenities. The attention to detail, genuine care and incredible service really topped off their stay. This place by far exceeded all expectations. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. Sincere special thanks to Elle for her incredible help. We can't wait to stay as a family in the summer. A 10/10 experience!

Gorgeous and historic hotel

A fantastic time at the Banff springs. An amazing hotel for both adults only and families. We had delicious drinks in the cozy Rundle Room, and a great dinner in the lively downstairs of Waldhaus. The spa and outdoor pool were both wonderful as well. We will make this an annual trip!
Wonderful Experience

Magnificent in all it's baronial splendour, everyone should stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs at least once in a lifetime. We have been lucky enough to stay a number of times over the years and yet the historical decor of the public rooms still never fails to impress. You can probably spend a day just exploring this huge hotel discovering lots of interesting nooks and crannies as well as shopping in the lovely little stores. On the accommodation side, we have generally found the rooms to be comfortable but small with extremely tiny bathrooms. If you are able to book a suite it is probably worth the upgrade if space is important to you. We love the heated indoor/outdoor pool to gaze up at the stars at night. The restaurants here are top notch and the breakfast buffet is sumptuous. There are also lots of activities on offer making the daily resort fee worthwhile. If you have time also check out some of the cozy bars scattered about the property.
