This was our third time and our friends first time in Antigua but the first time at the Pineapple Beach Club. We were very impressed and had an amazing time. Check in was quick, efficient and Clinton had us to our rooms in no time. While we requested ground floor beach front rooms due to some mobility issues, they were only able to provide beach front rooms on the second floor. They offered to move us in a day or two when rooms became available but we found that we were able to negotiate the stairs so we didn't move. Our friends had an end room in the 100 series block and it was large with a wrap-around balcony (both ocean and garden views), lounge chairs and chairs. The washroom had a double person shower! The whole room was very clean, bright and welcoming. Our room was also large with a beautiful balcony that overlooked the beach and ocean. The washroom had a large walk in shower and it was very clean. The a/c worked well and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We did notice the next day that work was being done on another section of beach front rooms which would explain a lack of inventory. The staff was hard at work late into the night to get the rooms completed before the busy season began. Housekeeping will come into your room every second day. There were two sets of bath towels, face clothes and hand towels provided in the room and we made sure to shake out anything that was sandy before we went into our rooms so we didn't actually need housekeeping to come in until the 4th day. We have nothing but good things to say as our room looked and felt fresh. The beach was wonderful. Very clean, not a lot of seaweed at the shore and the water was warm. We appreciated that we were provided two beach towels in our room at the start and then just had to put them in the bin as you left the beach at the end of the day. In the morning there were clean towels in a cupboard by the beach. We didn't have to wait for a towel hut to open to get towels. To those people who felt entitled to leave their garbage on the beach at the end of the day (glasses, empty sunscreen bottles, etc.) instead of putting them in the garbage bins on your way back to your room…shame on you. There were people who were down early to the beach and claimed loungers (mostly in shady spots) which was fine because not everyone can tolerate sitting in the sun. There were plenty of spots available at any given time. We found the men who were selling the adventure tours on the beach a bit off-putting. On our first day, they were right behind us and with each beer they consumed (brought to them by the guests), their voices got louder. Our hope was that they were not selling the tours in the morning and then taking guests out in the afternoon after consuming so much alcohol. We moved to a different part of the beach the next day. Piper who does the reflexology for the feet is a lovely man who is extremely respectful and provides a nice foot massage. My friend and I both used his services and we feel he is an asset to the resort. All of the bartenders at every bar were wonderful. Roxette deserves a special shout out. We tried all sorts of different drinks that were on the menu and a few that were special cocktails made by the bartender. From our rooms it was a short walk to the restaurants, coffee shop (which make a great cappuccino), gift shop and receptions all of which are on flat ground. Shuttles are available to take you to The Outhouse Grill which is quite a hike up the hill as are some of the ocean front rooms. The gift shop was nice and carried a lot of souvenirs however I would have preferred to see more in the way of t-shirts, ball caps and light long sleeved shirts for sale. Great advertising opportunity because we will be wearing them when we get home. The Topaz Restaurant was lovely. The breakfast buffet was repetitive but the food was very good. We ate lunch there twice. The first time it was a buffet and the second time it was a la carte. We really enjoyed the a la cart (pizza was very tasty). A big shout out to Egbert (Restaurant Manager) who is excellent at his job. On more than one occasion we saw him clearing tables, resetting tables, moving furniture (Caribbean Beach Party Night). He works as hard as his staff. Every day he stopped to say hello to our table. He is a terrific singer too! Kai and Taniqua always greeted us with a warm smile and friendly "good morning". They were very attentive and we felt welcomed every day. We did not dine at Orchids Restaurant Chef Pietro's was very good. The friendly staff were amazing at serving the dinner at just the right pace. The food was very tasty and the servings were just right. Pineapple Grill we are giving mixed reviews. We ate there twice. The first night we had Tandy as our server and she was a joy! Wonderful smile and personality. She helped make our dining experience that much better. The food that night was so good and the pace of receiving each course was perfect that we booked this restaurant again. Our second night there did not go well. The server was not unfriendly but not as warm and genuine as other servers. We received our appetizers which were ok (not as good as the night before) but then waited an hour for our main course. Needless to say, when the manager (we think) noticed we were standing up (to stretch a bit), she came and asked if everything was ok. We told her that we had been waiting an hour for our main course. The look of horror on her face said it all. Within a minute our food was delivered. Unfortunately, we think the meals may have been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long as all of our meals were over-cooked. I paid $35 for a lobster that was a bit tough. Pelican Snack Grill is a place we really enjoyed for lunch. The burgers are REALLY good as are the wings. The onion rings and fries are a tasty addition to any meal or on their own! Outhouse was fun and the bbq ribs were very good. The views spectacular. In the evenings, near the Sly Mongoose bar, there is a large entertainment area. We were able to find a table in a well-lit area where the four of us could play cards or other games. At 9:00 the entertainment would begin and it was something different every night. Our favourites were Karaoke, the Steel Drums Band and the DJ who asked for requests. At the end of our stay, Clinton was at our room quickly to get our luggage and check out was easy. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Pineapple Beach Club – the staff made our stay that much more memorable. We would recommend this resort and we look forward to returning for another very relaxing week. Read less

Arrived at the hotel to a cold flannel which was very nice, was also expecting a drink which we didn't see but then other days in reception travellers were given a drink. Was escorted to our rooms after a quick trip on the golf buggy showing certain areas of the hotel which was good. Initial reactions to the room were good, however this was late at night and in the dark. What a surprise in the morning when it was daylight. The room was very dirty and dusty. You could write your name on the screen of the TV and the dust on the skirting boards, bathroom lights and behind the doors was black. The floor under the fridge well I don't think that had been cleaned in months. Not what is expected when paying the amount we did. First morning freezing cold shower but when raised this with the staff it was rectified and we had no further problems with the water. Towel hook in the bathroom was put on upside down so couldn't use it!!! The grounds of the hotel are beautiful with a lovely beach. The sunbeds on the beach could do with updating like the beds around the pools. The food and drink. Oh dear this was such a let down for the hotel. Never have we experienced poor quality food in the buffet restaurant as we did at PBC. The breakfast for us was the best as we only have yoghurt and eggs, however this was a laugh. My husband put some yoghurt in a bowl and then when to put some blueberries and strawberries in to be told he couldn't have them as they were only for smoothies, he couldn't believe what he was hearing so the next day he asked them for the fruits with the yoghurt to be blended and then put In his bowl which the staff did, what's the difference??Thank you to Jo Ann who makes the best poached eggs. Lunch OMG first day we went with all intentions of having a salad, well if you like lettuce that's it, there was never any cucumber tomato, cold meats etc the choice of cooked meats were either fatty or chicken on the bone, what also was missing which has been every other hotel we visited was pasta station, grill station, pizza station. The choice was poor. The second week was then changed to a la carte which initially we enjoyed but you had a choice of soup 3 salads, pizzas, burgers, steak or curry, this became repetative after a few days so good luck to anyone going for longer. The evening meal was the first and last time we ate in Topaz restaurant. Thank goodness for the pineapple grill the food in there was much better. Chef Pietros was also nice. We did go over to the sister hotel, OMG this was another place the food was perfect 100% better and also many more choices of alcoholic drinks which were made perfect, the right quantity of alcohol with tonic and ice etc. We also paid the $80 to eat in the steak house. This is only open 2 nights a week to arrive to be told they had no Tbone or another steak. To their credit I ordered the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and our friend ordered the rib eye, half of which was fat and gristle. Would I go again no I wouldn't waste my money. The public toilets behind guest service's I used these daily and 3 times out of our holiday there was no hand soap. I asked for this to be refilled which took a couple of days each time to achieve this. This isn't exceptable in this day and age, I was surprised that I hadn't heard of anyone being ill. The hotel appears to lack any form of management supervision, checking on the staff and their duties. The coffee shop, this was amazing all the staff extremely polite and made a fantastic coffee thank you, it was also immaculately clean. A fantastic addition to the hotel. Credit has to go to all the staff who always had a smile on their faces and were always polite. We payed just short of £7000 which included all of the taxes, this was an expensive holiday which I had hoped for more. Upon checking out you are asked if you want to pay towards a childrens charity, alll the people that were checking out with us said no. For us this should come out of the island tax as this is an expensive part of your holiday. Would I go again sorry to say due the negatives written above I wouldn't go again. Read less

We came back in 2021, and decided to return for a couples trip this December, 2024 for 8 days. What we really love about this little slice of beauty is the size of the resort and the fun activity staff. Ann Marie & Andi are excellent at what they do! The resort is so tiny, that it's easy to find each other without having to call or make pre-arranged plans. The beach is BEAUTIFUL! Best we've seen on the island! While we love the activities staff, some of the activities could be better, really more of them. Most nights, between 4:30-6:30 (when the restaurants open), you would find a ton of people in the main seating area by the main bar, scrolling on their phones. Last visit it seemed like there were more trivia contests, name that tune, etc during that time frame. That being said, we did win both trivia contests again this trip! The cocktails are fine. I ordered the same specialty 'Grinch on Vacation' cocktail off of their menu, and it was different each day. I'm not picky, so it was fine. The food....it's fine. We have eaten at all of the restaurants, except for the one that you have to pay extra for, and all meals were ok. Topaz, the main buffet restaurant, does have a huge selection of various foods at dinner, so you can pretty much find something that suites you every night. Breakfast was great there, my husband became buddies with the omelet lady & she made him some hollandaise for his eggs bennies the next morning. The Beach BBQ is really a nice event that they put on. Again, lots of different options to eat. I'll end with the beautiful beach, it's dreamy! Read less
