The hotel

Everyday is paradise when you wake up with views of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in the Bahamas. With over 5,000 square miles of beaches, pools, and bars to explore, this is your ultimate destination within a destination. It’s perfect for families, with spacious suites to accommodate you all together, some even with full kitchens for those nights when you want to eat dinner alone on the balcony. The activities on offer are never ending, the water park being the pick of the bunch – and we know you’ll love the slides just as much as the little ones really! There’s also an entertainment centre to keep them occupied, with games, bowling and a movie theatre, so you can relax in the spa or grab a frozen margarita from the beachfront bar and watch the cruise ships coming in and out of Nassau. Make sure you grab a spot at the rooftop bar in time for the sunset, definitely an instagram-able moment.

I stayed in the One Particular Harbour building, which is marketed as a quiet, relaxing building, for 7 nights travelling with my mother. On our second morning (Monday)I was awakened by an impact screw driver building light standards and a stage immediately outside my room. This noise continued for a couple of hours, at 4 pm a DJ started sound tests of his equipment which were so loud my room vibrated from the bass. A letter arrived under our door advising that a staff appreciation party would be held that evening from 9:30-11 pm with a suitable volume of noise, if we had any questions or concerns would we please reach out to the front desk, this letter was signed by the managing director/general manager Zachery Frangos. I chose to speak with a manager, Cindy, who was not overly receptive to my concerns about a party and music being held immediately outside my room. The simple solution would have been to move us to another room for the one night, that was not offered. The food truck set up under my bedroom window at 8 pm with a very loud generator, at 9:30 pm the DJ started screaming into the microphone over the music and this lasted until 11:15 pm. Why a party was held between two guest buildings, outside when the complex has an events building away from the guest quarters is beyond me. I asked to speak with Zachery Frangos, general manager on Wednesday morning and was denied the opportunity to speak with him so I spoke with a second manager, Dorian, who appeared more interested in my report of the impact of this party on my stay and he guaranteed that something would be done, that he would come and report back to me after my issues were sent up the chain of command. He failed to follow through with his promises. I have even emailed Zachery Frangos and he failed to respond, this is the managing director/general manager of a 4 1/2 star resort. This is a very expensive place to stay and the lack of concern for guests is obvious by the manager results, by about half of the staff who are very interested in their phones and you need to ask them to fulfill a drink request or a food order and mediocre food. My advice would be to choose another location to stay while in Nassau. Read less

We highly recommend this resort to any and all! Our family of five absolutely loved everything about this resort. 3 kids aged 6-11. We booked the 2 bedroom marina suite with a pull out couch in the living room. There was more than enough room for us. The view was like no other, and the suite was virtually soundproof from the outside world. Housekeeping completed an immaculate job every day. We booked the all inclusive package. This package was worth every penny, and took any stress away of having to bring money to the pool area, to suppers, to the beach, etc. The food and drink were exceptional. Each restaurant offers something for everyone: pizza & pasta, sushi, local dishes, fresh seafood, ice cream, bakery items, lunch choices at the pool. We have absolutely zero complaints. The resort grounds are exceedingly clean. There are so many garbage cans around the pool deck, and at each elevator stop inside. The staff take extreme care of the entire property including the beach area. We spent lots of hours at the resort guest only beach area. We brought our own snorkel gear and found lots of marine life! Our only word of caution: the waterpark signs indicate the lifeguards are present 830am onwards and the waterpark opens at the time. Unfortunately, the lifeguards actually arrive at 10am therefore guests cannot use the water slides, cliff jumping and flowrider until that time. Keross was an absolute beauty. He was the flowrider (wave rider machine with body boards) lifeguard for the majority of the days we were at the resort. Keross was patient and knowledgeable with all the kids trying out the flowrider. He took time to explain how to have the most fun on the flowrider, and demonstrated his incredible surf skills. Manny the recreation director was very professional and helpful. Once we told him of the amazing customer service from Keross, Manny ensured Keross was recognized by his supervisor and relayed our words of praise. This meant a lot to us. To and from the resort, we taxied without concern. We also walked around the town almost every night, and felt safe doing so. In summary, we have absolutely no complaints about this resort. Our kids are asking to book another visit! Read less
