Stayed here for 10 nights at end of November. Only 15 minutes transfer from the airport which was great. The hotel stands out on the beach road due to the size and blue glass. It has lovely views across the bay. The majority of the staff are really friendly and helpful, Andreah at the bar is a huge asset he remembered our names and favourite drinks from day 1 and was the only barman to take orders around the pool and even the beach. The cocktails are great Coco Kiss, mudslides and Daquaris esp. There is a menu but if your favourite drink isn’t on it the bar staff will make it if they have the ingredients. The biggest plus for this hotel is the food, it is by far the best we’ve ever eaten on an all inclusive holiday. The chef is outstanding, most evenings are a la carte with an occasional buffet. There are different themes every day. Lunch has a choice of a la carte or buffet depending what time you want it. Breakfast is mainly buffet with plenty of choice but they will prepare something if asked. Ice cream is not on the buffet or menu but if asked you can have this and it’s lovely. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and efficient Kyle and Janye are very hardworking in there. The beach , Enterprise or Miami Beach , is small but beautiful and the hotel sets up loungers and parasols there from 9.30am it’s a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This part of the beach had some really large waves which were great to get into but if you need things a bit calmer walk another 3 minutes past the lifeguard hut and there’s less waves. There are no hotel loungers here however. On the beach with the waves we’d recommend beach shoes to get in and out of the sea as the waves crashing erode the soft sand and leaves a sharp coral section. The hotel pool is quite small but adequate to cool down when needed as daily temperates regularly hit 30 deg C. We had rain most days but apart from 2 half days the showers only lasted 5 - 10 minutes. The hotel rooms are really large with a huge comfy bed, a small dining area, shower room and separate toilet. All rooms have a sea view we were on the 4th floor. There is no entertainment in the evenings which didn’t really bother us as we prefer to have early nights and be up early to catch the sun. The bar was always empty by about 9.30 anyway. The biggest let down / failures of this hotel are the technical issues. All rooms have a hot tub on the balcony but on arrival ours was empty and could not be filled up due to a leak soaking the balcony floor, we reported it to reception twice but nothing was ever done. The air con is a bit temperamental and noisy we had to turn it off in the nights and use the ceiling fan, this wasn’t as cooling but took the edge off, other guests complained about both the hot tubs and air con issues but rarely were they rectified during the stay. The lift wasn’t working on 3 occasions over our stay which was a pain as we were on the 4th floor. 3 of the days we were here the pool was closed until around 11 - 12 o clock whilst chemicals were added to clean it, most other hotels do this overnight. If you have a late flight home the hotel provides a courtesy room with clean towels to shower and change prior to departure you just have to book the day before. When here you can visit the sister hotel the Accra Beach Hotel free with a courtesy bus and if you’re all inclusive at the Adibah this is continued here just get a wristband on arrival, the shuttle bus leaves at 10.30 every day and returns at 16.30. This hotel has a large pool and swim up bar, you can use the restaurant but we ate lunch at the swim up bar, the Panko fried king prawns were amazing. Again you have to pre book this visit at reception. We did a catamaran snorkelling trip with Sun-tours whilst here it was the 5 star lunch cruise on the suntours brochure given to us on arrival at the airport we’d definitely recommend this trip, it’s a 5 hour trip around the west coast and you get to snorkel and swim with turtles, there was also a large ray and Tarpon fish amongst the other shoals, the atmosphere on board was great and not overcrowded. We caught the boom bus into Bridgetown on one occasion which is an experience, you catch the bus by Oistins fish market and is 7.5 BBD (about £3) each. Oistins fish fry Friday is also worth a visit, loads of stalls selling local gifts, food and drinks. There is music and dancers here but it does get quite crowded here, we didn’t eat here but heard the food is great. This is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We felt very safe walking around outside the hotel but there are a few men begging for money on the beach road and beach. They will walk away if you decline. We would return to this hotel if the deal was good we booked with Bluebay Travel on this occasion and had a bargain. Read less

From the moment we checked in, Shawnice made us feel welcome (and she was also very helpful in booking our snorkeling trip). The food has been non-stop over the top; hats off to the amazing chef here, whose creativity and skill in the kitchen was top notch. In the restaurant, all wait staff were friendly and accommodating. A special shout out to two of their younger members, Christina and Kyle: keep doing what you do because you made us very happy. And, last but not least, a BIG star to the Wizard behind the Bar…Andreah. This gentleman understands the importance of stellar customer service. We appreciate you man. Management at the Abbidah should also be acknowledged because, clearly, they have nurtured a caring responsive staff/team. Read less

Well, we arrived at the hotel on 30th November for 7 nights. I was worried about what we would arrive at, after reading reviews . The hotel reception is bright and welcoming with seating and the bar area. The receptionist was great at checking us in. There was only 10 minutes left of dinner and she made sure we were speedily checked in so we could eat - thank you. We were allocated room 102. I panicked as I had read bad reports of the 1st floor. But our room was fantastic. No smells, nothing broken, no tatty furnishings etc Upon entering we were amazed by the size of the room. Huge! Big bed, with fabulous pillows and it was extremely comfortable to sleep on. Bedside tables with lights, large wardrobe with plenty of hangers, iron and ironing board, robes and a safe (though this wasn't secured so it could have been picked up and stolen!) There was drawer storage as well, with a dressing table area. A great sized television- we used our firestick to watch netflix. There was a breakfast bar style seating area with fridge, ice box and tea/coffee. The bathroom was spotless and had a great shower (did take a while to get hot), two basins and toiletries provided - shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Also a powerful hairdryer was there. Across from the bathroom was a separate toilet and basin . We had two huge balconies- we loved them! One at the front with ocean view (if you're after a full ocean view - ask for a high floor) Two wicker chairs and a table were provided - sun loungers would have been perfect ! The side balcony was our preferred one as it offered some shade. On it was the jacuzzi- it never worked. In fact no ones did! I contacted the reception about the jacuzzi and explained that it wasnt working but they didn't seem too interested. However, after I emailed our travel agent, the manager Gregory spoke with us and was apologetic and really nice. He explained that the Jacuzzis haven't been working for a while and they'd tried to let the tour operators know prior to guests arriving. It was all amicable and we thanked him for his honesty . The pool area is small but nice. There are sun loungers and umbrellas here, with more provided on the beach. We didn't use the pool but other guests did. The beach - don't expect a huge carribean beach on your doorstep! Turn right out of the hotel , walk along and the hotels umbrellas will be the first turquoise ones you see. If you need a lounger - ask at the hotel and they'll get one there. The beach is lovely but be careful - my husband got hurt by a huge wave and cut his face badly. Enjoy but be safe. The food - don't expect a huge buffet menu selection. Its all fresh and tasty but if you're a fussy eater , you may struggle . They have themed evenings and you can ask for chips !! The staff are on the whole, fantastic- they work hard and don't stop. Some maintenance issues need sorting, to make their jobs easier such as fixing the dishwasher and the bar fridge - the drinks weren't ice cold. The domestics are fantastic- the hotel is immaculate and so welcoming. The hotels location is quiet, relaxing and adults only. If you want bingo, live music and quizzes - this isn't for you ! But it was perfect for us. Oh yes - the damp patches on floor 1's corridor ceiling - they had a maintenance bloke fixing it. Let's hope that helps the issue. Don't let this put you off! Read less

I’ve just returned from an incredible two-week holiday at The Abidah, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. First Impressions From the moment we arrived, the hotel’s cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere stood out. Shawndice greeted us on arrival and set the tone for the entire stay with her warmth and attentiveness. She was fantastic throughout, always ready to answer our questions and offer suggestions to make our trip even better. Room Comfort and Amenities Our room was nothing short of spectacular. It was spacious, featuring two double beds, a separate toilet and shower room, and dual vanity sinks. The beds were exceptionally comfortable – a rare occasion where we didn’t miss the comfort of our own bed at home! Dining Experience The food was, quite simply, the best I’ve ever had on a holiday. If your preference leans toward burgers, chips, and pizza, this isn’t the place for you. The à la carte menu was phenomenal, with fresh ingredients and a delectable array of meat and fish dishes. Breakfast and lunch were buffet-style but equally delicious. Mornings were made better with made-to-order omelets and poached eggs. Bar and Drinks Andreah at the bar deserves a special mention for crafting the best rum punches in all of Barbados (and trust me, I tried quite a few across the island!). Pool and Beach The pool area was lovely, with ample loungers always available. The beach, though smaller than usual due to recent storms, was stunning. The sea was rough during our stay, so we spent more time by the pool on non-exploration days. Facilities and Downsides The gym was a bit of a letdown due to a non-functional air conditioning system, making workouts challenging. Additionally, the smallest weights were 5kg, which might not be ideal for everyone. The biggest downside was the limited seating in the evenings. There were no outdoor seating areas for post-dinner drinks and very few indoor options. This meant most guests, including us, ended up retreating to our rooms after dinner. Final Thoughts We specifically chose The Abidah for its boutique size, à la carte dining, location, and lack of evening entertainment. It delivered on all fronts, and we had an amazing time despite minor inconveniences. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful, high-quality getaway! Read less

This was our 2nd visit to the Abidah first a year ago and what a difference a year makes, the food is brilliant the staff are superb as first time, but the thing that brings the experience down is the hotel management.Gregory goes out of his way to cause problems, yes it’s a personal thing but he should be called Basil he’s that bad annoying. One of the main problems is lack of leadership and maintenance every guest was daily talking about air con not working, jacuzzi’s not working we were stuck for 14 days in the infamous room 107 with the view of a semi derelict building and the smell of mold. On day 2 we reported a Cockroach problem to Gregory and sent a video to hotel management a waste of time no action taken by anyone. It’s hard to put finger on problem obviously management not capable but things like nothing working (air con / jacuzzi’s) or like the pool pumps filters only being turn on 1 or 2 days a week, toilets closed for weeks on end they either can’t afford to fix issues or just don’t care. It’s a shame as food and staff are superb. Read less
