Worst Resort. Stay away!

This was the worst resort our family has ever stayed in. It took an hour and a half to check in. Then although we made our reservations online two weeks before we arrived, they had no record of them in the system. One team of people has no idea what the other team of people is doing. It is not a club kids club, they’re just random activities…

This was the worst resort our family has ever stayed in. It took an hour and a half to check in. Then although we made our reservations online two weeks before we arrived, they had no record of them in the system. One team of people has no idea what the other team of people is doing. It is not a club kids club, they’re just random activities throughout the day. That being said nine times out of 10 the person leading the activity didn’t show up. The whole time that you’re here, they only try to upsell you to a membership. There are a lot of staff and they are friendly but again no one knows what they are doing. There seems to be absolutely no management. I’ve never been more frustrated or upset or disappointed about a vacation. This might be my own review, but speak to anybody in the lobby and they will tell you the exact same thing. Stay away!

I recently stayed at AVA Resort and wanted to share my experience. The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of potential, though it's not 100% completed yet. As Legendary Hall of Fame members who primarily stay at Unico, we were excited to give AVA a try. Upon check in we had great hopes to be blown away, instead it’s been sheer disappointment the entire time.
From the insanity of check in (people just passing you desk to desk as they have multiple different areas for different levels and we told them from the start we are HOF Members.
That followed up with getting to the room and mind you do not walk barefooted in your room, you will think you’ve been on a coal bed. Trying to get dinner reservation and your butler telling you only have two options mexican or asian everything else is full with no open spots for a table of 2.
while wondering around the property which i have to say is beautiful we walked up to the hostess for the black iron and asked if there were any openings this evening and she said yes at 545, i asked her did it just open and she said no it had not been reserved yet and we took it.
now for guest services, if you call down needing assistance from the front desk, forget it, it’s not going to happen, i think you could have a missing limb and you would bleed out waiting for help.
just so much wrong with a property that has so much potential.

There is plenty of staff and our butler Tharvin was great!! Only issue I encountered was with room service which just took over 2 1/2 hrs to be delivered..
Poolside had plenty of chairs which we had reserved..only downside is the beach is not very nice, compared to other resorts in Cancun
I would definitely return as it is a beautiful resort
