When we booked the hotel the pictures showed a 5 start hotel, but after checking in we would give a 3… our room was outdated, the bathroom vanity top was cracked and was glued together with a horrible job, toilet seat was broken and rusty, after taking a shower half of the water was in the middle of the bathroom…. It says all inclusive but I have never been in all inclusive hotel and a coffee shop was not included! The restaurants don’t take reservations you have to wait over an hr to get in! And the entertainment side was not satisfying neither. The beach was nice but full of rocks and seaweed. I would rate it a 3 start and not a 5. Read less

We had a wonderful week at The Fives Beach relaxing in the adult's pool area mainly because it was heated while the other pools were chilly. Really enjoyed the personal attention and comfort of the members exclusive area where we loved playing backgammon while lounging by the pool and had the benefit of hearing the calming chimes/bells of the meditation session taking place nearby. We would have spent most of our time there had that pool been heated. Spent one day in a bali bed on the beach which was very nice to walk although there were rocky areas. Bali bed made for good napping we didn't think we needed but enjoyed. Water was comfortable, but we prefer the pool. Food was delicious everywhere we went, although the sushi menu did not appear to have non-sushi options, so we skipped that one. Flavours buffet was very loud at breakfast and dinner where children's cries echoed throughout. We preferred eating a quiet breakfast on the deck of the LaBrassiere restaurant or al la carte outside at the Mexican restaurant. The room was the size of a one-bedroom apartment. Full kitchen with microwave, full-size frig and full-size stove/oven which we questioned why it was needed in an all-inclusive resort where you could get something to eat anywhere. Entertainment was always a class act in the Plaza area. Missed quite a bit though because our dinner reservations coincided with events. Bummer. We were treated like kings and queens everywhere we went. Can't wait to return. Read less

We just finished a fabulous stay at the Fives resort. We stayed with our two adult sons in a 2br suite. It was plenty of space for all of us. Emmanuel Perez was our Ambassador for the week, and he did a spectacular job setting up our activities. The food in all the restaurants was really good. We usually try to avoid all-inclusives because we’d rather eat local. However, the food and drinks here were the best we’ve had at any all-inclusive we’ve stayed at. They have lots of options and there are always pop-up spots with fun specials. We loved the design of the resort. The winding pools and jungle atmosphere were magical. We saw monkeys, coatis, raccoons, lizards, and a variety of birds wandering the grounds. The service was also top-notch. All the staff is very friendly. We had a few issues, but they tried hard to make things right. Sebastian was especially helpful. There were fun activities every night, and we loved the atmosphere on the plaza. We will definitely be back! Here are some additional tips to make the most of your stay: 1. Get your sun spots reserved early. We had a Bali bed most days, but when we didn’t, we were sure to snag beach chairs early. They go quick! 2. Bring sunscreen with you. The shop is clean and handy, but the prices are high. We payed almost $60 for two bottles of sunscreen. 3. If you’re a member, make your reservations early for the restaurants and times you want. We were able to get into all the restaurants, but sometimes it was a long wait. If you’re not a member, go early, put your name in, and enjoy a drink and entertainment on the plaza while you wait. 4. Use the QR codes to watch for special events and activities. We missed the fire show because we already made dinner reservations. In the future, I’ll review and plan ahead. You can also see which pop up restaurants will be out by the beach. 5. Bring more cash than you think you need. The ATM at the resort charges crazy fees. We always tip the staff so we ran through cash quicker than we expected. 6. Get up early and walk on the beach. The resort is located in a lovely spot, but it’s still nice to walk along the beach and see other spots. The beach area to the north is particularly nice. Plus, if you’re out early you can secure your beach chairs. 7. Spend one night in town. There is not a shuttle service to town, but the bellmen will call a taxi for around $20USD each way. 5th avenue is a fun spot with good shopping. And if you want a great local restaurant, be sure to check out El Fogon and order the tacoloco. 8. Book extra nights! Once you’re here, you won’t want to leave paradise! Read less

The only thing I would suggest is that the entertainment could be a bit more lively. While the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, I felt that the activities could have been more engaging and fun. A bit more energy and variety in the entertainment would have made the overall experience even better. Still, it was a wonderful stay, and I’d definitely return! Read less

Excellent resort. Great food and great service. Nice touches like fresh baked pastries being handed out warm and fresh in La Brasserie and many times someone walked our towels with us, right to our spot at the pool. We booked a Bali Bed for the week and had over the top amazing service from Toni And Alejandro, the best poolside service I have had at an all-inclusive. Favorite restaurant was Italian, the food and service was exceptional. The best show at night was the fire show. Only downside was that the beachfront infinity pool was pretty chilly while we were there, would have been nice if it was heated like the adults only pool. Our son loved the kids club and they treated him great and he had a lot of fun. Was an amazing week with the family. Read less
