After feeling a bit nervous after reading other reviews, I truly cannot understand how anyone could give this resort less than 5 stars. Our family travels a lot, most of the time all inclusive, and this resort was just as good as all of the others we have been to around the Caribbean, if not better. We arrived around 3pm and quickly were escorted to our room by our Diamond Club butler, Nikita. I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to get to know Nikita and our other butler, Kaysha, throughout our short 5-day stay at the Royalton. We had our children with us, so we spent most of our days at the beach near the main "chill" pool where all of the entertainment was happening, and Nikita and Kaysha always made themselves available to bring us any food or drinks that we liked. They also assisted us with getting all of the dinner reservations that we wanted, and checked in throughout the day to make sure we were enjoying our time at the Royalton. Kaysha convinced us to visit the Friday night street party and that was one of the highlights of our trips! For those complaining about the food...I am not sure what more you could ask for. For lunches, the jerk chicken quesadilla and coconut shrimp from the Diamond Club Grill were delicious! My husband and I had the quesadilla every day (we didnt even bother with the buffet or the Grazie lunch!)...the food truck had a small menu but all of the food we ordered from there was also wonderful. For dinners, our favorite meal was Hunters steakhouse...the service was unmatched (thank you to our server Emily), and the steak and sides were all fantastic and cooked to perfection. The other restaurants that we tried were the Zen hibachi (the food was just average compared to the fantastic hibachi we have at home in Massachusetts, but the show and service made this a fantastic experience nonetheless), the Tex Mex (chicken tacos were delicious, the country fried steak and baked potato soup were good, but would have liked a bit more to choose from on the menu), and the Scores sports bar (onion rings!!! YUM!). Each morning we started our day with a lovely coffee from the coffee bar, which we took with us to the breakfast buffet, which was plentiful and delicious. Homemade omelets made with a smile, and our family favorite - the delicious hash browns! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The entertainment was great all day long; the vibe squad always had something going on, and our favorite by far was the foam party! The evening entertainment was wonderful!!! I only wish it carried on a little later some nights...but on those nights that the main shows ended early, we just made our way upstairs to the Score sports bar, which was fun for late night drinks and dancing with the DJ! Overall, I cannot recommend this resort any more...we are already looking forward to re-booking for our family (and inviting other friends and family to join us!)... One MAJOR TIP: The ride from the airport to the resort (and vice versa) is 1.5-2 hours of nonstop whirling roads...if you are prone to motion sickness or car sickness, I HIGHLY recommend you splurge for a private boat transfer instead...we had a boat transfer on the way to the resort and the free van transfer for the ride back to the airport, and I was so car sick when we arrived at the airport that I told my husband we will ALWAYS pay for the boat (or helicopter) transfer for future trips...worth every. single. penny!!!!!!! We are positive. There were no individual events but an overall very good experience. If you want to compare this to a 5* hotel in Sankt Moritz then you will be disappointed but if you come here with vacation spirits, open mind and can empathize with the local customs and island life, you will not be disappointed. Employees are friendly and really do their best to help you and give you a pleasant experience. This is a large resort, slightly older but very well maintained. Yes there are few details that needs some love and attention but nothing that will ruin your vacation. There are more than enough facilities, restaurants, bars to keep you busy for 1-2 weeks. The food was delicious both in the buffet and the on the a la carte restaurants. We have a background in hospitality and tourism ourselves and it is always difficult to read and correctly interpret other people's reviews. 95% of travelers do not write reviews and the 5 remaining % are 4% dissatisfied people and 1% satisfied. Reviews are also written during a one-time experience either very positive or negative so that creates a very distorted picture. Price/quality is correct. We will definitely come back. Read less
