This should be changed as he was our favorite bartender of the entire trip! He should always be at that bar. He made so many interesting and yummy drinks. We also enjoyed the activities playmakers who always kept things high energy. Read less

We combined four nights here with three nights at Sandals Halcyon…the vibe and ambience fits us a bit better at Halcyon and we had stayed there previously, however, the golf is very close to the Grande and husband played every day so it was more convenient at the Grande. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t the “party scene” we thought it would be ( the evening entertainment wrapped up early so resort was pretty quiet at night). There were also more people in our age range (early 60’s) than we expected; the resort wasn’t as large/spread out as we thought so less walking; and it was easier to get chairs on the beach than we read in other reviews. All of these aspects were appreciated by us. We had a terrible check in experience which was a very weak start. We arrived from Halcyon at 11:00, and didn’t expect our room to be ready but since they knew we were waiting seems to me they could have managed it sooner. Was told to return at 2:00, was told room still wasn’t ready, but it turns out it was. Wasted two hours of my time trying to get that sorted out and trying to change rooms as was given a room overlooking the roofs of the fitness center. In the end, was helped by the manager Nadia, who offered that we could move to a slightly higher category room the next day, but that location didn’t seem worth the trouble of moving again since we were only there for four nights. Even though the view wasn’t great, we liked the location in the cap estate building as it was just down the hall from the shops, lobby and bar and easy access to pool, beach and main areas of resort. We laugh at the numerous Sandals room categories…each designed to make you think you are getting a better experience and to squeeze more $ out of you. We have stayed in both the highest level categories at various Sandals and lowest, with a Butler and without, and we now stay with lowest categories and without a Butler, it’s just not worth it to us and the prices for the highest categories especially are ridiculous. I guess if you are on your Honeymoon and plan to spend a lot of time in your room, and can afford it…but to us a waste of $ as you still get the same overall resort experience, same activities, same restaurants. We also don’t understand people who come to a beach resort and spend all their time at the pool..but we appreciate those people as it seemed easier to get spots on the beach than the pool! Yes, the thatched palapas were hard to come by, but chairs with the sunshades were pretty easy to get in the morning. And we appreciate that Sandals doesn’t charge an exorbitant amount for the cabanas…for $130 you get one for the day and butler service and if we had been there longer might have done that for more than one day. Service at the bars was good, and we didn’t experience any issues at the restaurants. At Bombay they told us certain dishes might take some time but it wasn’t that long a wait. As at Halcyon, we thought the food at Soy was the best. Everything else we had was decent but nothing really great. We don’t understand the restaurant booking system and why we couldn’t get any reservations later than 7 even 5/6 days in advance…that was frustrating…maybe they save later times for those with Butlers? The absolute worst was the trip back to the airport…the Grande is a good 25 minutes farther than Halcyon and the trip took 1 hour, 48 minutes, on a Saturday…probably longer on a week day. I usually don’t get carsick, but I was nauseous the entire time. That ride, on top of the fact that it took us 15 1/2 hours door to door to get home to Texas (without any delays) means we most likely won’t return and will go to Mexico or Hawaii instead. St. Lucia is beautiful but the logistics of getting around are just too difficult. Read less

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is truly Grand! It is an expansive resort with a beautiful beach and many pool options. The entertainment was high-caliber and there was a great deal of variety. With the huge main foyer, when it rained there was this alternate venue to transition the shows to – for example, the Carnival Beach Party (with fire dancers) was moved into this covered venue, instead of the beach area, and became an engaging dance performance with many multi-coloured lights. Evening entertainment also included a wonderful solo instrumentalist (i.e., Jazzie on Pan Drum), followed by a spectacular water & fire show utilizing the main pool. We had great outdoor dining at Barefoot where Amanda and Sandy provided friendly and efficient service. Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful right from check-in and throughout our stay at the Grande. Special shout-out to Shante who welcomed us and helped us settle in! A number of additional staff members helped to make our stay here memorable: for breakfast at Bayside, Jessie not only made great eggs (to order), but also was very personable and remembered our preferences; We experienced great leadership, and a timely and effective follow-up from Pramod about a dining inquiry. A person who we saw daily, and who made our stay very comfortable was Vinette, our room attendant. She asked about our time preference for service, and always had our room tended to each day before we got back from Breakfast. Amazing and so appreciated! Thank you for all the staff at Sandals Grande St. Lucian who helped to make our stay so enjoyable and memorable! Michael & Betty Read less

Our second trip to the Grande did not disappoint. First trip was January 2023, we did see some differences but they didn't bother us as we didn't partake in the games that the playmakers put on. We were always up early to enjoy the quiet of the resort before everything started with the hustle and bustle of resort life. Our consistent staff stand outs are as follows: Jelani - poolside bar, every morning he was singing, always laughing, had an incredible smile on his face, seemed genuinely happy to be there. Andre - secret bar/Bombay bar, he was moved to Gordon's as service bartender and honestly what a poor move! Andre has a personality and a way of connecting with his bar crowd. I don't even remember telling him our names but he remembered them the next night he saw us. What a shining example of customer centric service he is. Put him in charge of customer service lessons! Francesca - Toscaninis Breakfast, wow! What a radiant beam of pure sweet joy! Two separate mornings, the way she approaches the table & her customers is nothing that can be faked. Leona - everywhere! I swear she was all over! And each time, ready with a smile. Heather - Cabana butler, we wanted for NOTHING. Everything we ordered came exactly as requested. She moved around Cabana curtains to help us minimize sun. She needs to be fast tracked to butler if that's her desire! She's good! Garden guys? Didn't cross paths with one that wasn't smiling and friendly. As a whole, the gardeners are the best department! One even saw us at breakfast trying to get a selfie and insisted on taking our pic, then off he went back to the shrubbery. Shows didn't seem as good or as much effort put into preparation this year over 2023. Not a big deal for us. Also different from 2023, the main pool has a clearly defined quiet side. Speakers seem to be pointed towards the jerk shack/beach bar side leaving the other side less noisy which we appreciated. A VERY welcome difference from 2023 is that spa & photos aren't pushy! They're ASKING if you're interested and taking a simple no thank you as a response and leaving you be. Thank you, Sandals, for that improvement! Vendors weren't pushy at all. A polite no thanks. The most disappointing staff department? Restaurant service. No server seemed happy to be at our table or anyone else's. Typically failing to make eye contact or speak in a volume where they could be heard. I will say, with loyalty gift no longer being t-shirt & a bottle of rum, there was zero reason for us to go to the loyalty office. Which seems a very very poor move on the sales department side. Instead you get a voucher for a free photo...which had we used still is a missing touch point for a sale. We were able to keep our resolve to not rebook a trip (first time we haven't in 5 trips) as we've decided to move Sandals money to home projects & upgrades. But they lost the touch point with customers to get them to be enticed to rebook. Instead we got a quote slipped under our door for 4 nights for an island we wouldn't visit. They guessed at some dates according to our usual travel with them and threw out some numbers. I've been in sales, while I appreciate not having to test my willpower, this doesn't seem like a wise sales tactic. Id be interested in knowing more about the thought process behind it. Read less

We’ve just returned from a blissful 14-night stay at Sandals Grande St Lucian, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We were there to get married on the 20th, and from start to finish, everything was beyond perfect. Our wedding planner, Fern, was absolutely amazing. We met with her on our first day to go over the details, and she made sure everything was arranged beautifully. On the big day, we didn’t have to worry about a thing—everything went smoothly, and we were able to truly enjoy the moment. The photographers, Jonathan and Kelly, captured stunning images and videos that we’ll treasure for a lifetime. A special thank you to the GM, Bruno, who kindly walked my partner down the aisle. He truly went above and beyond to be part of our special day, and we deeply appreciated his presence. Our butlers, Mel, Malika, and Niki, were exceptional. They took care of everything for us—arranging dinners, securing sunbeds, providing drinks, and even sourcing medication when we needed it. They really made us feel pampered and looked after throughout our stay. Every staff member at the resort was incredible. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, the service was outstanding. We truly felt like VIPs, and it made our entire experience even more special. We can’t wait to return. Thank you to everyone at Sandals Grande St Lucian for making our wedding and honeymoon unforgettable. Keep up the amazing work! Read less
