Apsara Beachfront Resort & Villa

Khao Lak, Thailand

Virgin rating

The hotel

You could be forgiven for thinking the Apsara is only for water babies, with its beachfront setting, infinity swimming pool, villa pool, two kids' pools, pool villa upgrades, water slide and of course, the obligatory Jacuzzi. But there’s more to the Apsara than sun, sea and sand. Set in unspoilt tropical greenery, along Pakarang Beach, this All Inclusive haven offers a range of drinks and things to do. There’s the Thai cookery classes, Thai boxing, spa treatments, bike rental and kayaking to name but a few!

The staff were all so wonderful and friendly. The infinity pool over looking the beach is stunning and the kids absolutely loved the waterslide. This pool was a huge highlight of our stay. The beach is warm, safe, shallow and had waves which were perfect for kids to learn to surf. The food at the beachfront bar/restaurant was incredible and the atmosphere beautiful. The only thing we feel that would improve this place is free hire of surfboards/ water sports activities and maybe a games room for older kids with free table tennis ( they one small outdoor table) and air hockey Read less

We looked at a few resorts before deciding to book at the Apsara. After considering the reviews, the price and pictures I thought this would be best suited for us. We booked a deluxe swim up room (all inclusive) as I wasn’t convinced the Villas warranted the extra money. Our flight got us into Phuket early morning and after a short transfer we arrived at the hotel. I was aware the room wouldn’t be ready for a few hours so I wasn’t surprised to be told this. We were shown to the restaurant and grabbed something to eat. After an hour a very apologetic lady informed us the rooms were still not ready so they have moved us into a deluxe jacuzzi villa free of charge! We were absolutely blown away!!! The villas are a very good size plus we had the added benefit of being able to use an additional restaurant and bar! I’m writing this from our villa and after only being here for a few days, I can confirm we will be booking to come back again next year and paying for a villa! The location is remote and very peaceful which is exactly what we were looking for. The staff are great and everything we have eaten so far has been very nice. Top marks for this resort. Exceptional value for money and has certainly exceeded our expectations. Read less

Taxi's easily available from reception if you wish to go *Out and About", I tried my hardest to find a fault with this resort and failed ! Planning to return again next year....Thank you for a great stay.

Having a villa included full access to the villa a la carte restaurant, the food and service there was simply brilliant. The restaurant on the hotel side was kind of average. The beach restaurant which we visited once was stunning, again, service, food, views, all amazing. It's a quiet place, with a stunning beach, amazing service and top quality all round. I literally could not fault it in any way. We took a taxi into town which was fun and interesting. We had a day trip in the jungle - monkeys/rafting/meal/elephants - booked this through TUI, but what a day, it was fantastic. This is one of the best holidays we've had - mainly down to the service of the staff at Apsara, we'll definitely return. I would highly recommend, but do stay in a villa, it's well worth the extra, to take advantage of the extras available. Well done team Apsara, and TUI also. Read less
