Where is it

A short boat ride from Phuket's east coast, in sheltered waters overlooking Phang Nga Bay. Phuket Town is 30 minutes away by road and boat. Transfer time from Phuket Airport: 50 minutes.

Hotel information

116 suites, as well as the highly recommended 120 villas with private pools. All with air-conditioning, patio/balcony, complimentary WiFi access, fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, flat-screen satellite TV, bath robes and slippers, safe, and bathroom amenities. Deluxe Suites are located in the quiet gardens towards the back of the resort, a short distance away from the main reception area, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 people.

All Inclusive package includes (11:00am–11:00pm daily):

Outdoor Jacuzzi Suites are close to the Deluxe Suites with an open plan interior and outdoor decked terrace with jacuzzi, sleeping maximum 3 people.

All villas have a spacious open plan living area and and kitchen, a private terrace overlooking the gardens with private pool, and master bedroom with either 1 king-size bed or twin beds. 1-Bedroom Garden View Pool Villas are in the centre of the resort on the hill, sleeping maximum 3 people. 1-Bedroom Sea View Pool Villas are similar and are in the same location but have high views across Phang Nga Bay.

Much better than expected. Customer service was outstanding. You face the staff with smile 24 hours. Restaurants are delicious. Juices are great. Strongly recommend to visit. We have spent 10 days but wanted to stay more. Quiet and chill atmosphere.

The shower was really good, the products in the room smelled delicious (they're only chargeable if you take the large bottle of them from the room) The staff were excellent, so helpful, friendly and honest. Shout outs to Kyle and Jay on the bar and to Minnie and Joy in the Thai restaurant. The cleaners and gardeners did a fantastic job every day too. Management invite guests to have a cocktail in one of the restaurants with them and welcome feedback as they are keen to be better wherever they can. Hazan was working even when he was on his way to go to the doctor, customer service at the fore always. One of the best things was the a la carte food. The Thai restaurant in particular was outstanding. The food was delicious and freshly cooked to order, I'm vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me too. The spa was lovely and relaxing. The prices are higher than those in town but the experience is elevated as well. The hydrotherapy pool was fun too. The beach and pool areas were really chilled and relaxing. For a change, the hotel offers a longboat trip to a neighbouring island Rang Yai, lovely golden sand and blue sea. The sea at the hotel is cloudy because of the flow of water in the bay, so the mud gets churned up, especially where the weather is windy or rainy at the end of rainy season. In the evenings, there was live music, a DJ and a fire show which was really fun. We found out from staff that the hotel has recently been taken over by Barcelo and they are making some improvements and upgrades to the hotel. There are a few things that need work but the management is aware and I think this hotel will go from very good to excellent once they have completed those works. Read less

Mosquitoes everywhere. Service is appalling. Asked clearance of plates from room 3-4 times. Nobody showed up. Till checkout plates were lying outside our door gathering flies. After checkout by 11 we attempted to take the 1115am boat transfer. Had asked for luggage to be picked up from our room. Showed up on time but luggage didn't arrive. Asked… Read more

There’s building work still happening around the site, the materials and rubbish are on view with no effort to tidy things away or hide them a bit! the standard suite rooms are nice, but walls are paper thin, so noisy and the hot water is patchy, you have to pay for the shampoo & shower gel and the jacuzzi /tiled pond was really cold and a bit old and ropey. The sea was more muddy brown than emerald blue, We stayed all inclusive, again the food was average at best. The staff are pleasant, but they don’t look particularly happy, we’ve stayed all over Thailand and it really is the land of smiles, not so much at Coconut Island, it just seems to have that big corporate feel and it’s our fault for staying here, but they need to raise it a bit in our opinion, or we probably just need to avoid places like this, lesson learnt!
