This is a well run hotel, it's quite big but never felt crowded, whether in any of the restaurants, by the pool or on the private beach where there are more than enough sunbeds. Room: we were in U412 which was a little walk away from the pool and restaurants, so might not suit guests with mobility problems. It had a good view of the setting sun and was always nicey cleaned. There was a problem with a leaking air-con unit but this was fixed after couple of days. Rooms are available from 15:00, so if you're an early arrival be sure to pack swimming stuff so that you can use the other facilities until your room is ready. Pool: plenty of sunbeds and clean towels were provided. We were always down early after breakfast and saw the pool being thoroughly cleaned each morning. My only minor gripe of our two weeks at Cape Panwa was the mess created by the may Mynah Birds, and my constructive recommendation would be for an additional member of staff to be made available to clean up the beds each morning. Beach: private beach at the bottom of the hill which can be accessed on foot or via the funicular railway that runs all day. Food: We ate mainly in the Cafe Andaman buffet, but also sampled the Top Of The Reef and Panwa House restaurants; we were disappointed with the service at Panda House when our booked table was given to another couple minutes before we arrived, and we offered a table crawling with ants before eventually choosing to eat inside. We loved Cafe Andaman, where the chef and his team as well as the waiting staff were all wonderful. Cafe Andaman is a buffet and there is always a weekly menu with that include Italian, Thai and Indian speciality nights. All food was very good, with selection of deserts and fruit at each meal. Live band playing covers every evening at Andaman Cafe were very good. Location: the hotel is perched on top of the hotel, with a short but steep walk down to the little village. Alternatively the hotel runs a shuttle bus to & from the town every 10 m minutes or so. Plenty of places to get a drink or eat in the village, and also the 4th restaurant available to Cape Panwa residents - Uncle Nan's, although we were disappointed in the time taken to be served. Lots of options for a massage in the village or walking down the hill; we visited DIVA - first one you walk past at the top of the hill - which I can heartily recommend. The village waterfront has a night market which comprises almost all aspects of the Phuket Night Market. Read less

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children (1 and 3 years old) in December. It was wonderful. Excellent food, great service and a wonderful location. What stood out above all was the warm way the entire staff treated my children, who felt very welcome. Thanks for this! We will certainly come back again.

We recently completed our fourth stay at this hotel, although we had already felt a “let down” on our second last visit, we decided to give it one more chance as we enjoy the neighborhood with its restaurants and cafés and the private beach this hotel offers. Unfortunately, this time around, our experience was far from satisfactory. We booked a premium room at a higher rate to enjoy a good view. My partner, who was traveling to Phuket for work visited the hotel a month prior to our scheduled stay. He spoke directly to the lobby staff and confirmed our room preference, which was on the F wing on a higher floor. The hotel receptionists assured us that our request would be honored. Upon our arrival, we were casually assigned a room on a completely different wing from what we had requested. When we inquired, the staff acknowledged that there was a note in the system about our request, but they had mistakenly assigned us to another wing. They apologized and informed us that there were no more rooms available in the requested F wing, so they placed us in the L wing, which was under renovation. Our stay in the L wing was anything but pleasant. Every day, as many rooms on that wing were being refurbished, we endured the strong smell of paint and varnish, along with constant noise from drilling, cutting, and welding. This disruption made our stay very uncomfortable, not to mention that there was no communication whatsoever given to us about the construction work that was taking place. The lobby staff had initially told us that a room in the F wing would be available in three days and that they would notify and move us, but no one followed up or contacted us on the promised day. Additionally, during our checkout, despite knowing that our requests were not met, none of the staff asked if our stay was comfortable or offered any apologies for the inconvenience, they directly presented our final bill asking "cash or card?". In summary, our experience this time was disappointing, and we hope that the hotel management takes the necessary steps to improve their service standards to meet guest expectations. Read less

Visited this hotel previously eight times now last time was 2017 had previously been given a cape privileges gold card that gave you a room upgrade, lovely meal, a boat trip and a session in the wonderful spa however on checking in today was told the hotel has done away with this now and now use a different loyalties criteria even though I had emailed reception when I booked the holiday a few months ago with my card details for my wife’s special birthday to be honest this was the only reason I booked this hotel again so poor marketing from the hotel as I definitely won’t return here. We were greeted with a look warm reception totally different from previous experiences here on visiting the beach the gardens looked tired to what used to be fabulously manicured grounds and empty water bottles could be seen littered on the grounds , very sad , even the lighthouse bar is closed Monday and Tuesday during this current high season not sure why as great spot for a cocktail,my advice to anyone this has been here previously and enjoyed it here would be to keep the great old memories of what was once a fabulous hotel . Enjoyed our two week holiday at Cape Panwa. Staff were friendly.Room was comfortable.Food in every restaurant was excellent. Both pools were lovely.Plenty of sun beds on beach. They brought extra beds out round the main pool. The Tui full board package was excellent value. We had difficulty getting into our room on several occasions due to the key card not working. The cleaning ladies were always helpful to get it resolved. We enjoyed walking into the village and having a beer. Then using the hotel shuttle bus to get back. The 7/11 supermarket was handy and there was also a pharmacy if needed. We have stayed in many 4/5 star hotels around the world and each one brings a different experience. We will have lovely memories from Cape Panwa. Read less
