The hotel

Thailand’s first luxury tented jungle camp, Elephant Hills, combines the camp aspect of an East African safari with the Thai tropical rainforest. Located in Khao Sok National Park, Elephant Hills is just a couple of hours north of Phuket or Krabi and with complimentary transfers from most beach hotels in the region, it’s an easy combination and an unmissable experience. We are proud to support the unique elephant experience where you can feed and interact with these magnificent creatures, an award-winning programme that puts elephant welfare, education and conservation at the heart of what they do.

From landing there everything was on a schedule a brilliantly put together schedule I must add. The canoe ride I didn’t participate in due to mobility problems, but the elephants (which was my sole reason for going) certainly didn’t disappoint. we was actually there on their terms, no touristy things done whatsoever. Which is the way it should be, we was there to see them in their natural environment and not being used to entertain. It was truly amazing. The lake trip didn’t disappoint either, everything was really well organised, meals evening entertainment, staff very attentive. One stood out for me Tee, he was an absolute star. Professional, attentive very helpful and kind, I told him about my mobility fears for the long boat on the lake, and he helped eliminate them and help me so I could make the trip. Keep doing what your doing as its fantastic. Read less

Simply a fantastic place to visit! We enjoyed a 2-night, 3-day safari, which was the perfect duration whilst visiting other places in Thailand. The accommodation was excellent, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There’s Wi-Fi in the main camp and all the necessary facilities for a great experience. While the jungle trekking was incredible, do be prepared to travel about an hour to reach some of the other activities such as the boat trip and elephant sanctuary. Also, proper trekking shoes are essential, as the jungle trails can be quite challenging. The pool area was a lovely spot to unwind after a busy day of activities, and the food and service were fantastic throughout our stay. A huge thank you to Ant, our tour guide, for being so attentive and taking such great care of us. Read less

Nong and Lucky were excellent guides, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We learned about the elephants, prepared food for them and fed them. We were shown how to recycle elephant poo to make paper. The long tail boat ride on Cheow Lan Lake was breathtaking. Food was amazing, and we enjoyed the traditional Thai cookery demonstrations and Thai dancing by children from the local school. The tents were luxurious! Comfortable beds, hot showers and nice, private relaxing area at the front of the tent, which we sometimes shared with stick insects and tiny lizards. We particularly enjoyed the hammocks! But the views....Absolutely outstanding! If you ever get a chance to visit here, do so; you won't be disappointed. Read less

The tents are very well equiped and have comfortable beds and decent bathroom facilities. The food is very good with plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The transfer to see the Elephants is about half an hour, on arrival we were in awe of these magnificent creatures, so gentle, such a shame we only had about one and half hours with them. The kayak ride back to our transport was an experince seeing monkeys, snakes frogs etc. The following dat transferred to the jungle camp, again the tents were very comfortable with the same facilities as the previous camp. You acn get involed with prganised activities or just please yourself swimming, kayaking of paddling boading on the lake. A fantastic experience with amazing views and great company, if you are in the area you must arrange a trip, you are in for a treat. Read less
