This was a great choice once we arrived. Our trip started out as a disaster thanks to Delta. We arrived a day late, but the resort kept our room ready for us as we let them know we were delayed. Once we arrived, we were met by a very friendly front desk staff. Craig and his staff were very welcoming and processed us quickly. Marcell the Vallet took us to our room and gave us great info on the resort and showed us everything about what we needed to know. Once we got settled in, we went down to get our welcome drinks as the little bar in the lobby. Hunter behind the bar was a great treat as he told us about the welcome drinks, and we had the rum punch per his recommendations. These were very good and yes hit the spot. As for the restaurants at the resort, we had breakfast at Hot Tin Roof and this was good and quick. One place we went to for dinner was El Meson De Pepe's for some Cuban dishes and these were very good. Our server Jose took good care of us and explained some of the dishes. We didn't need a car to get around as we walked to everything and every place we went too. Yes, the walk from one side to the other is just over a mile and it's flat so no hills to climb or massive steps. Places we went to; Hemmingway house, End of the road sign US 1, Margaritaville for a Margarita, Southernmost point (very busy place) Southernmost Beach cafe for lunch on the beach, and Papa Pillar Rum factory for a tour. Never had time to really spend time at the pool but it is heated and the cruise ships and sunset viewing is good to do here with a beverage. One good thing is CVS is across the street so you can get all the items you need so you'll not need to purchase the $$$$$ items in the mini fridge or snack bar in the room. We will be back to this resort again soon as we really didn't want to leave. Oh, Delta managed to cause us another delay on getting home late. Next time we'll fly into Miami then drive down, so we know we'll get there on time. Read less

Close to all the action on Duval St and local attractions but tucked away that you are not impacted by the noise. I would highly recommend a stay here if visiting Key West! Read less

Located within comfortable walking distance to most restaurants, bars, and points of interest Key West has to offer. Vey good service from staff. The poolside service made our afternoons even more relaxing. The entertainment on Ocean Key's Sunset Pier added to the enjoyment of watching the sun set.

The stay was perfect for a family get away. Rooms were cleaned daily. The grounds were clean and well kept. Few construction projects were going on in the hallway but it did not affect our stay as it wasn’t heard. The only problem we had was the weather. It was cold and very windy. The stay was perfect for a family get away. Rooms were cleaned daily. The grounds were clean and well kept. Few construction projects were going on in the hallway but it did not affect our stay as it wasn’t heard. The only problem we had was the weather. It was cold and very windy. A day or two we had to stay inside because of the wind. Some days we were able to tan by the pool other days we were bundled up in sweaters and jackets. The property staff was amazing and we are planing to go back in April as the weather should be near perfect. We are staying at the Ocean Key resort. We did stay at other properties during our 12 years at Key west and ocean key resort is the only one we keep returning to. Location, sunset pier, ocean view, friendly staff and excellent service is what won our hearts. Read less
