This hotel is, quite frankly, a dump. We are currently here for a family Christmas trip. Our room smells like vomit, the rooms are dated, dirty, and it’s one of the noisiest hotels we’ve been in. You can hear everything going on it the rooms next to you and out in the hallway. It’s ridiculous!!!! Our air/heat unit is noisy and rattles loudly when running, which keeps us up throughout the night. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!! Read less

Please AVOID this place right now. We are here and it is a disaster. We had no clue. This was a shelter for displaced hurricane people. That’s not the problem, but we would like to have known before. We probably wouldn’t have stayed here because it’s very noisy, dirty and kids and people everywhere. I am glad that they are part of that program… Read more

We probably wouldn’t have stayed here because it’s very noisy, dirty and kids and people everywhere. I am glad that they are part of that program with FEMA, but I wish I would have known before. My husband and I were looking for a very relaxed birthday trip and we have not been able to sleep one hour because of all the noise and activity. Went to the front desk to complain they can care less. Also keep in mind there is not one microwave on property because they said someone blew up the few that they had up by microwaving keys. Again, please avoid this place at this current time and maybe revisit it in the summer. Read less

I booked a two-night stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort with a confirmed reservation for a room with two queen beds. When I arrived at 7 PM on Thanksgiving weekend with my daughter and another female high school student, I was told no rooms were available despite my confirmed booking. The reservation line and the hotel’s website showed rooms available, including the type I reserved, yet the hotel refused to honor my reservation. The supervisor offered a room with a king bed, which was inappropriate for our party, and pressured me to cancel the booking to avoid penalties. They refused to provide alternative accommodations or guarantee the cancellation of my reservation. Later, I received a text at 1:14 AM stating my reservation had been canceled. This experience was deeply frustrating and unacceptable. The hotel’s failure to honor my reservation, lack of resolution, and poor customer service left me and my family scrambling for last-minute accommodations on a holiday. I would not recommend this property to anyone, especially women traveling alone or with other females. Read less

We stayed here for our honeymoon, this was our 4th hotel of the honeymoon after travelling around Florida. To say we was disappointed was an understatement, the hotel is quiet dated, the bar, restaurant area could do with being updated and more modern. the pool was still shut (understandable that it couldn’t be helped after the hurricane), however I feel we should have been informed of this before hand. The room we had was modern, clean and had a large bed, however it overlooked the skips and car park which wasn’t what we had envisioned for our honeymoon. We told reception and we was given free breakfast (buffet that was not great), and they offered to move rooms after a few days but nothing could be done immediately due to there being lots of conventions on- one of the reasons we left- it felt like we was the only people there who wasn’t part of the many conventions going on in the hotel. We eventually left the hotel after 2 nights as it wasn’t what we wanted for our special time. Read less

On November 30,2024 we had a family reunion of 15 people of various ages to celebrate my 92 birthdays. Our first contact was only a few hours before the event was with Booketa Gavani at the Rusty Bistro Restaurant at the Sandkey Sheraton. The manager Jason Stiger also joined us in the planning of the dinner party. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and led to a private section of the restaurant. Booketa made sure that the table was beautifully set with flowers for the occasion. Our waiter Mat was one of the best servers we ever had. The manager came out to make sure that were well taken care of. All the courses were excellent from the appetizers through the wide selections of main dishes and desserts. The waiter Mat went out of his way to please us. The evening was a success and truly memorable. Dr. Laszlo Adler Read less
