Terrible customer service by Sieber Stay at the W Hotel Miami
Jan 26, 2025Wander42279160273
Unfortunately, our experience with Sieber Stay was the worst. They never returned our deposit and made up fake charges so they could keep the deposit. They wanted us to write them a good review in return for the deposit. Worst experience with this company!
OK for personal travel.

It's a nice hotel for personal travel but I would avoid it for work. Breakfast doesn't start until 7am. No room service before 8am. The gym runs from 9am to 5pm. Fine if you are on vacation but not if you are working...
The rooms are nice although the water pressure is kind of low. It's a little below what I would expect from the W.
Staff need training!

Overall the hotel itself is great, excellent location, comfortable rooms and convenient. The rooms show a bit of wear but even the best hotels do. The morning and early afternoon staff are excellent; friendly and helpful. The evening staff are helpful enough but lack the ability to be observant and listen. We had just returned from a 2 week cruise and had dressed for dinner with 4 course meals every night. Originally we thought we’d just eat at the restaurant on the 15th floor; the music was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. We decided let’s just as the desk of there was a casual Italian place and grab a bowl of pasta or split a pizza. We were in shorts, t shirts and a long sleeve open shirts and sandals. We asked the 3 people at the desk for a “casual” Italian restaurant where we could grab a quick dinner. They said to go to one just a couple minutes walk. When we got there, the “doorman” in a tuxedo gave us one look and asked if we had a reservation? We were obviously under dressed. We decided to just walk around and find something on our own and found a great little food truck that made Italian and it was delicious. When we returned to the hotel the same staff asked how we liked it? We told them what happened and they said they don’t normally do reservations except on weekends “it was Friday night” another piped in that “sometimes cheap food is better than expensive food” and that the one they sent us too was expensive and “maybe we wouldn’t have liked it after all” I told them it had nothing to do with expense and everything to do with casual. If I wanted to put on slacks and a nice shirt We would have walked across the street to capital grill.

Not what we expected

We stayed at the W for 2 nights, the proximity to almost everything is very nice and the check-in/out staff is wonderful. The noise is a bit much but we expected that staying here as it right in the city so it wasn’t a problem.

I did expect more from the hotel, given it’s a premium brand. The shower handle came off as I tried to turn it on, I put is back on with no problem but it shouldn’t have come off in the first place. The rooftop bar has a great bartender but the manager basically forced him to close right at 10, there were 8 of us that would have had at least one more. Plus this is Miami, maybe close at 11? Or 10 if no one is there. A pet peeve of mine, 2 clocks in the room both were off by an hour one would say noon, the other 10 AM when the time was actually 11. Simple fix. Last issue, the hallway smelled fishy, the smell didn’t follow us into our room so it just an odd issue that didn’t affect our stay really but again I expected more.
W is a wonderful brand I’ve stayed at several but this one needs to work on the details.

Not in a Hurry to Return

I normally stay further south in the Grove, but I had a couple meetings in the Brickell area and thought it would be a nice change. The W is attached to a residential condo that allows Air BnB hosting. There are some shared facilities between the two groups but separate check in lobbies. So that's the first issue. As an upscale hotel, the W…

I normally stay further south in the Grove, but I had a couple meetings in the Brickell area and thought it would be a nice change. The W is attached to a residential condo that allows Air BnB hosting. There are some shared facilities between the two groups but separate check in lobbies. So that's the first issue. As an upscale hotel, the W Brickell lacks that sense of arrival and lobby vibe which really sets a tone for a visit, let's face it. There is just something to arriving at a dynamic, expansive lobby with visual access to a bar, seating groups etc.
The room itself was large, and I was lucky to get an upgrade to a corner suite with south and west exposures. As an premium hotel within Bonvoy, the design standards are high, but a bit worn and weathered around the edges. Way past it's prime generally and in need of a moderate upgrade.
The pool deck is vast, and circulation to the Gym and Spa Zones is via this deck, then through the condo/ bnb side, so a bit convoluted. The gym itself is stellar, with magnificent views of Brickell Key. I did encounter a very authroritarian and rude attendant who made it her buisness to cross the gym floor and admonish me for making the mistake of answering my phone while on the treadmill, but whatever, she was doing her job, but delivery and tone are everything in hospitality.
Not in any hurry to stay at this hotel again. Moving around Brickell is not the easiest. Streets are not that friendly and the traffic is horrendous.
