The hotel

Mixing an intimate feel with a super-central spot in upmarket Coconut Grove, and the uber-cool styling you’d expect from a Miami hotel, The Mayfair has it all. In fact you don’t even need to venture out — the Miami scene comes to you, with the hotel’s Above Mayfair rooftop pool lounge featuring weekly ‘Sunset of Miami’ pool parties, Friday night happy hours, resident DJs, a curved Gaudi-esque seating wall complete with fireplace, a casual food menu, and custom cocktails. The rooftop is the hub of the action by day too, with its heated swimming pool and views over Miami and Biscayne Bay. Downstairs holds its own treasures though, with the Spartico trattoria’s authentic Italian dishes cooked up in an authentic Ambrogi oven, and the Jurlique Spa’s organic products.

Where is it

In the heart of upscale Coconut Grove, a district famous for its al fresco café culture, high-energy nightlife and shopping, it’s just moments from CocoWalk’s dining and entertainment, and 10-minute walk from Biscayne Bay, home to white sands, seafood and sailing. The hotel’s 15 minutes from downtown Miami and 20 minutes from South Beach. Driving time from Miami International Airport: 30 minutes.

We visited as a family for 6 2 adults 4 children Firstly I booked with on the beach and thought this was a 4 star hotel We arrived late and after travelling all day the children were tied and hungry the reception booked us in and was told you received a packed lunch bit we were refused The lady one reception asks her colleague to go get the sandwich but he shook his head and said no I’m guessing they were all gone or he couldn’t be bothered We then got our room key and were told our rooms were in the garden side of the hotel we went to the room and was very disappointed They are lucky to scrape a 2 star they were dirty the small fridge was rusty the balcony was flooded by water leaking from above and the bathroom was unhealthy and had mould in there was not enough bedding or towels for our family the floor looked like it had not been mopped for a year I returned to reception to complain as I had booked a 4 star hotel and this simply wasn’t the case I was advised to contact them in the morning when reservations were open and they would arrange for a new fridge to be sent to our room wich don’t happen I did this as was told this is what I had booked and if I want a better room I had to pay the difference i contact on the beach who stated it says in small print that the rooms are 3/4 star and there was nothing they could do I decided to not let this ruin my holiday and decided to leave it The grounds were fine the kids enjoyed playing ping pong and darts and the arcade The pools were cold but that didn’t stop the kids from having fun The entertainment was ok and the drinks were good The restaurant was fine had no problems with the food although it looked better than it tasted We had a good holiday and met some lovely peaple we mad e the most of it was Although I would not recommend this hotel or return to it I can see were the 5 star reviews are coming from the entertainment team who give out free champagne to the best reviews Not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in but definitely not a 4 star Read less

Great one night stay on our way home from the Keys. Fabian the valet and Ariel the waiter at breakfast were great! Pool heated and wonderful. Daytime was quiet by the pool and we were able to swim, have a cocktail, read and relax on the most comfortable round lounge bed.

Fabian from valet was amazing! I work here at Mayfair often for Weddings and the service is always great and efficient. Such a quick team! Even on their busiest days they are always very quick and great at getting my car to me. Truly very happy with the service here!

Nice Hotel in the Coconut Grove area. Within walking distance of plenty of shopping & Restaurants, plus the Hotel restaurant is decent too. Rooms were very nice & clean. Grounds/Courtyard were very nice with the Gardens. Would definitely stay here again...and Hotel has a Roof Top Pool with Full bar too....a definite plus
