I booked this hotel because I have an early morning flight out of MIA and Hilton's shuttle starts at 5am. Let me comment on the shuttle situation first. SHUTTLE The schedule is advertised as every 30 minutes. I waited at the airport for 45 minutes, before the shuttle came by, but then it's already full! After some discussion, some passengers squeezed a seat for me (much appreciated). The shuttle is a smallish van, I have a feeling that is is always full. The hotel should get a bus instead. Coming back to the airport the next morning at 5am, I wanted to make sure I have a seat, so I came downstairs 20 minutes earlier, and some people were already waiting. When the shuttle arrived, the driver explained that he has to let Avianca crew in first due to contractual obligations. That took up 7 seats, leaving about 20 people to fight for the remaing seats. I'll leave out the details of the fiasco. Some people were not able to get on the shuttle (I assume everybody needed the 5am one to catch a flight). HOTEL INTERIOR Old and in bad shape. A renovation was needed long time ago. For the price close to $200, think Motel 6 quality. I'm surprised Hilton allows its brand name to be associated with this property. SERVICE Slow and disinterested, no smile. Check in took a long time. I was given keys that did not work. When I returned to the front desk, no apologies or anything like that, the clerk went to look for someone to go with me to try the door again and I waited for 10 minutes. The assistant manager who went with me had an annoyed look the whole time. Summary: worst Hilton ever stayed in. I'm a diamond member and stayed in a lot of Hiltons worldwide ranging from Conrad, Woldorf Astoria to Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn. Read less

The hotel was nasty dirty. From the carpet to the lighting fixtures. I'm surprised Hilton still has their name on this hotel. There was five onion rings on a $9 "Tower" of rings. Look at the chandelier that is supposed to be clear. With a required gratuity the service was poor.

Great location: close to airport with frequent hotel pickups. Older hotel that is large and was busy. Room was high up, so when digital key did not work it was a pain to remedy. I will start by saying I have already complained directly to the Hilton. They did respond promptly and advised the issues in my review would be resolved. I will start by saying I have already complained directly to the Hilton. They did respond promptly and advised the issues in my review would be resolved. Their gesture of goodwill though was 30% off my next stay with them, which I informed them is fairly irrelevant as I will never be in the area again to take them up on the offer… sadly, they didn’t respond after that. We were travelling from the UK to Miami and stayed in this hotel for one night as part of a longer stay in various hotels. The entrance is fairly grand and well presented. The check in team were welcoming and we were checked in without an issue. They clearly explained the charges and deposit. The room was on the 12th floor, which matched our request. However, this is where it deteriorates. There were countless issues in the room, including: 1. There was a large amount of dust accumulated on the TV table. The room either hadn’t been used for some time, or hadn’t been cleaned well. 2. The air con unit was extremely noisy with a fairly consistent rattling noise as two pieces of metal vibrated against one another. 3. The toilet chain was broken. It would flush but was detached from the main toilet and hanging off at the side. 4. The hook in the shower (to hold clothes) was broken. 5. The shower curtain did not fit the bath and therefore water would continuously leak onto the bathroom floor. 6. The bath was unclean with yellow staining. 7. Large number of broken tiles, scuff marks or damage to the walls. 8. There were two lamps in the bedroom, one wouldn’t work, both of them appeared to have mould developing on the shade. 9. The chair is the room had a large number of stains. We chose to complain the morning of checkout rather than after arriving as we had spent a whole day traveling and were exhausted. As the bed was of good quality we decided to get an early night rather than have the difficulties of moving room. Having worked in hotels as well as stayed in many others, I appreciate things can go wrong. This room appeared to require a lot of TLC and I wouldn’t have thought these issues were new and appeared quite longstanding. Far away from the Hilton standards and nowhere near value for money. By comparison we stayed in a ‘budget’ hotel in Miami Beach which was 32.5% of the nightly cost of this one and the room was actually much better. As this is not a positive review I’ve added some photographs, which I wouldn’t usually do but will help people contextualise some of the issues I’ve raised above. Read less
