Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club

Miami Beach, Miami

Virgin rating

The hotel

There’s a certain seaside feel at the revamped Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club – and it doesn’t just come from its location, virtually anchored to the sands and boardwalk of Miami Beach. Its guestrooms are decked out in cool whites, greys, and navy blues for a refreshing coastal feel; while the finishing touches have a hint of the Art Deco heritage this ocean-skirting oasis is famous for. The latest hotel to make it into Marriott’s Autograph Collection, when you return hungry from the beach, or a dip in its two pools, or shopping in the nearby Design District, the Cadillac’s new restaurant welcomes you back with crispy rustic pizzas straight from its wood-fired oven, while the mixologist at its oceanfront bar shakes you their signature cocktails.

Whilst the location is ok the hotel itself is very dated and desperately needs a face lift. Our room was in the 4th floor but overlooked a roof with lots of plant on it that ran all day and night every day and night. Whilst this was just a circumstance of that particular room it wasn’t nice, but i suppose it’s luck of the draw and someone has to get this room. Inside the room was dated and very worn. AC grille was dented and broken and the AC when running was very noisy. The TV didn’t really work much with only 3 channels able to watch (again not a massive problem as plenty to do in Miami, other than watch TV). The staff at the hotel were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The pool area and outside bar were very nice, clean and well organised. Whilst I wouldn’t necessarily stay here again myself I wouldn’t deter others from staying here. If we go back to Miami Beach I would stay more in south beach rather than where this hotel is at mid beach. Read less

Pros: great oceanfront location with prime beach; beautiful art deco lobby; excellent food; good-sized, well appointed room with a large shower; two nice pools; Leon at beach club did a fantastic job Cons: surly front desk staff; one of two tower elevator’s out entire stay; inconsistent service in restaurant; MIA approach directly overhead so plenty of aircraft noise; lots of incidental fees despite hefty daily resort charge; actually gave us glass bottles of Panna water on beach; repeatedly harassed by maid and maid manager to service room Overall, despite a great location and very nice historic property, there were too many service issues for a recommendation. Better staff training and management needed. Read less

Not worth more than 150 $. The rooms ,floors and elevators are old ( 40 Years? ) and run down. The only ok place is the lobby, but after you check in the disappointment begins. There is a very loud generator next to the pool which you can even here around the corner when you have sea view. Room is disgusting. And the manager doesn't know anything… Read more

I am a Marriott Platinum member and it was the worst decision hotel wise since some years. The only good point is that they have a beach area That's it. This needs a renovation and a new managment badly Read less

The hotel s old, but that’s ok because of its history. Some of the staff (in all the restaurants were absolutely wonderful). It when I checked in I was late for a business meeting. The room was prepaid but the incidentals were not- they were about to be covered by a company credit card when my businesses partner arrived (ten minutes after me). The guy in reception wanted $3200 from me for incidentals before I got a key. I explained that this would be covered in the next ten minutes and I didn’t want to block my personal credit card for the amount because it’s the holidays and my wife needed to use it back home and asked if he could give me ten minutes trust in the room or show me a quiet place in the hotel where I could do my call. He simply said ‘no’ to both and as I sat in the lobby waiting for my colleague (and missing my zoom call because the lobby was so loud) he assigned a burly security guy to ‘watch’ me. I am a long standing Marriott Bonvoy member and have never been treated like this by any other their other hotels. My partner arrived and we got our rooms. I found hair in the bed, public hair on the toilet and other hair in the bathroom. The bath was disgusting and the shower didn’t work. I asked to change rooms and had to join a large queue at reception as so many other guests were complaining. One member of reception staff was understanding but the others were surly, rude and well, useless. Read less

I've stayed here before so I thought it would be okay again? It was not. I understand the price gouging for Basel but these rooms were $700. No wifi. No working elevators. There's on elevator that can be reset and can also cause you the scare of your life getting stuck in it. No additional elevators go to the 10th floor where I am. There is human… Read more

There's on elevator that can be reset and can also cause you the scare of your life getting stuck in it. No additional elevators go to the 10th floor where I am. There is human hair in the stair well, been there for days. I unfortunately also extended the room because they couldn't guarantee late checkout that they clearly have available (first booking was with Amex late checkout is pretty standard w hotel collection). Additionally, the food at the bar was previously good and is now very tasteless and expensive, parking is $50 the same as the faena! And please don't desire clean towels, they're a luxury around here. Read less
