Worthless. Just don't stay here. It became a joke to us about how bad it was pretty quickly. Read less

My wife and I along with our son stayed at the Gale South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton for 5 nights at the end of December. The hotel is in dire need of some serious TLC. First appearances of the hotel are very deceiving, because the common areas appear cozy and attractive. The good: Great location, A/C works well. 5 stars to Ramona for her help, she was wonderful. The bad: Room 208 (photos 1-5): Originally, we were assigned Room 208 (an accessible room) and it was dark with a small window and a depressing, dungeon-like feel. It was in bad condition, especially the bathroom. The toilet started leaking and left puddles on the floor and the hot and cold water faucet handles in the bathroom sink were very difficult to turn, requiring the use of both hands per handle. When you turned the hot water handle, the entire assembly would turn with it. We asked for another room, but none were available until the following day. We were instructed to bring down our luggage in the morning and store it with the hotel. They said that when a room becomes available, they will move our luggage into it and we would just have to pick up the key from the front desk in the evening. When we returned around 5 PM, Ramona, at the front desk, wasn’t aware of what was going on because nothing was arranged by the previous staff member. She found us a room, but it ended up being too small for us. So we decided to try to tough it out in room 208 for a night. However, when we returned to the room our key didn’t work. The lock broke and couldn’t be repaired that night. At that point, Ramona assigned us to Room 120. Room 120 (5-10): This room was a good size, bright with a large window. It was in somewhat better condition, but still run down. The bathroom was set up in the following way…The small room with the toilet had a door. The sink and glass shower were open to the room without a privacy door. The mirror above the sink had clear glass on the sides so you could see into the room where the 2 queen beds were. If traveling as a couple, this may be acceptable. However, our teenage son was with us. I don’t understand how a hotel can have such a design in a room meant for up to 4 people. Upon request, the hotel installed a shower curtain inside the shower for privacy. However, when you walk out of the shower naked, you can be easily seen from the room. So when my wife showered, she had to make sure to tell our son to turn away until she was dressed. And to top it all off and make our stay even more unpleasant, we made the mistake of pulling the curtains fully open on our last day and found a pair of a previous guest’s underwear near the wall. I travel to South Beach every few months to decompress and this trip was no different. Staying a the Gale Hotel was relaxing and comfortable. It was just what I needed for a weekend trip. Cornelius got me checked in early and answered all of my questions.

It’s called “Dolce”and its a little expensive and it isnt associated with Hilton but If you want different food options, there are many different restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Priscila the front desk agent is THE BEST. She was so patient and helpful. She took a lot of time to take care of my specific room situation while also dealing with many other guests’ issues at the same time. She knows her stuff and she makes sure the customer is happy. I truly believe that she could be the Hotel General Manager and run the entire hotel if she wanted to. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family mainly because of the cleanliness, location and the amazing Guest Service from Priscila. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Is it too much to expect fresh towels and a friendly person at the desk?

The tiny room and terrace with a tall concrete wall were ok but the front desk made the experience one I would not recommend. After 2 calls for towels for the next mornings shower we were ignored. I went to the desk to ask for them and the response was “why do you need a towel?” I had to ask to have my room cleaned each day. The front desk… Read more

I went to the desk to ask for them and the response was “why do you need a towel?” I had to ask to have my room cleaned each day. The front desk again seemed put out. When I checked out I requested a cab and the same guy called an expensive limo. I won’t be back. Read less
