From the moment we arrived at Male airport to our reluctant departure from this special special place. The care and attention from all the staff we had the privilege to meet was exceptional. Thank you, you truly made this holiday so memorable. The meet and greet at Male was organised and simple, the seaplane journey was an experience to remember on our 1st visit to the Maldives. The arrival and check in on arrival at the island made us feel so welcome, first impressions mean so much. Our Beach villa with pool was just as we had imagined, it took our breath away the pictures do not compare to the reality. The views and tranquility every day, are embedded in our memories for life. All reviews mentions how good the restaurants are and how good the food is which is true, well the service and friendliness of all the staff in these restaurants is equally as good, from the wait on staff to the sommeliers and the interaction from the head chef who is so hands on and available to talk to every day. We could not single out any member of staff for special praise as we believe all are needed and equal.. and do the island proud. We also really enjoyed snorkelling everyday, the sea excursions were well organised and very enjoyable. The villa bicycles were a first on holiday, and also not o wear shoes for the majority of our stay, was also a first and felt so natural. We truly did not want to leave after 7 days in paradise, we will definitely return to Emerald faarufushi where we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We have been home about 6 weeks now and it feels like we have only just left, the memories are so vivid and will be there for life.... Thank you, you make hospitality seem so enjoyable and simple... You do an amazing job fabulous faarufushi....... Read less

From the moment we arrived every team member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The attention to detail and professionalism of all members of staff made our family feel so special. The chefs at all the restaurants were truly amazing nothing was to much trouble they just wanted to please and they certainly did this 10 out of 10 Our grandchildren regularly used the kids club aggi and the other members of staff were brilliant . We also have to give a very special mention to Irman who took care of our room what a talented kind young man always leaving us pictures and beautiful written notes. Our last mention goes to Aslaan our personal Butler who took exceptional care of us all making our stay extra special. Read less

Rather than repeating all the comments about paradise etc I’ll focus on the pros equals and cons of Emerald F , currently #2 traveller ranked in the Maldives, compared to another highly rated all inclusive Maldives resort in the South Sri Atoll we’ve stayed at twice in January (23 & 24) that cost £300 less per night. Pros: Four a la carte restaurants that can be booked in advance via an App, in addition to a good buffet, for dinner, compared with one a la carte restaurant that is restricted to one dinner per week. Solid floors not sand in all restaurants. The room minibar is customisable on negotiation and can include a bottle of drinkable champagne per day. You get a personal service from a “butler” via WhatsApp, who will bend over backwards to help (in our case a very decent man called Kumar) compared to a faceless admin WhatsApp. Rooms larger, more private, especially those with overwater pools. Champagne (currently Victoria brut blend, green label) available in the bars as well as the restaurants, compared to restricted to the restaurants. A more wide ranging AI wine list. Swim out snorkelling better on house reef. Equals: Service from staff is great at all levels from general manager down. Food is excellent and beautifully served. Rooms kept spotlessly clean. Cocktails excellent. Recognised our anniversary with lovely touches on the day. Both beautiful natural looking resorts and very romantic 🥰. Both about 40 minutes from Male by sea plane, although Emerald doesn’t have its own transit lounge there you still get a good meet & greet. Both have a nice little boutique to buy clothing etc. Cons: dive centre not as friendly and there seemed to be fewer dive sites nearby for divers only certified with open water to 18m. Gym small but still well equipped, with decent A/C. More children: there’s a kids club so Emerald may appeal more to couples with young kids but there’s no adult area in the main pool or in the buffet restaurant for those who don’t want screaming children around them on occasions). Some overwater villas have a noise issue when the tide is up. Overall we felt the extra cost was worth paying and would recommend and return, budget allowing! Read less

This was my first solo trip which was arranged through the excellent Angelfish travel as always. I cannot recommend them highly enough in terms of understanding your needs and ensuring that everything goes smoothly. Knowing that they have personal experience of the majority of the islands is invaluable as you can make fully informed decisions about where to go. I visited Emerald Faarufushi last year in May and so this was my second visit. I was blown away by the welcome that I received from everyone and so many people remembered me by name. I was treated like an old friend. I was delighted to have Elite as my villa host again and he really looked after me and checked in every day to make sure I was okay. All the villas are beautiful but I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a beach pool villa which was stunning. I particularly liked the fact that the bathroom has an indoor bathroom area with air conditioning but also an outdoor bath and shower. Also, being able to cool down in the pool whilst looking out to sea was absolutely magical. Special thanks to Bagus my room attendant who did a brilliant job (and tidied up my many device cables every day!). The snorkelling is very good although not necessarily straight from your villa. However, there’s a great drop off point near Mediterraneo restaurant where the quantity and diversity of fish takes your breath away. I was lucky enough to see a turtle, rays and sharks. The current can be strong but even if you are not very confident there’s plenty to see without venturing very far. Once again, the food and drinks were excellent and nothing is ever too much trouble (particular thanks to Tom). The number of restaurants that you can eat in is exceptionally good for a relatively small island. I whiled away many hours in the Beach Club at lunchtimes, chatting to Ori and Tom whilst sipping cocktails. Emerald Faarufushi is a 5* resort so of course you expect high standards. But everyone at Faarufushi goes above and beyond to deliver a holiday to remember. The General Manager, Patrick, and Resort Manager, Rao, are highly visible and stop to chat to guests and staff alike. They lead by example and it pays off. They call their staff ‘Champions’ which sums it up perfectly. Thank you to everyone who made my trip perfect. I’m looking forward to my 3rd visit! Read less
