Located on the private island of Maafushi, which is part of Dhaalu Atoll, and is connected to neighbouring Riu Palace Maldivas by walkway. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 40 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

This was an absolutely fantastic holiday, I am still in the Maldives for another couple of days. The resort is spotless, the facilities excellent and the staff fabulous, so very friendly and helpful. The house keeping staff do a great job, the food is top notch and the sports / entertainment guys were so much fun and engage with all the holiday guests especially Ashin and Sanjay. Kelvin at the bar is very cute and the guys in the water sports club were super lovely.
The snorkeling trip and dolphin watching boat trip were out of this world ! We saw some amazing fish, a turtle and a couple of rays and at least 50 dolphins including some very young ones.
The holiday exceeded all expectations and I have recommended the RIU Atoll to family and friends.
I would like to add a few wee remarks to be taken as constructive criticism:
1. A drinking water fountain in bedrooms to prevent the use of multiple plastic bottles would be a good idea.
2.Sun screen to be made available throughout the hotel for free that is reef safe.
3. A different all exclusive rate for those who do not consume any alcohol.
4. No smoking / vaping in any communal areas .
I will definitely visit the Maldives again x

The staff were all so attentive and made sure we always had an alcohol free Piña colada or iced coffee to hand. All the themed DJ party nights are fab, especially white night where we had a great boogie on the dance floor. Compared to other hotels this one is a more reasonable price but it still feels like bliss and luxury! I think TUI had the best deal when we booked compared to BA or Emirates (this may have changed). I am actually still here still right now writing this review under a coconut tree. If you are thinking of booking… Do it!!!
