Two Bedroom Family Lagoon Pool Villas are 175sqm and feature two separate bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a sofa bed. These rooms have a spacious living area, private sundeck and infinity plunge pool and a balcony overlooking the lagoon. Sleeps a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children or 6 adults.
Beach Pool Villas are 145sqm and are located on the beach and come with their own private pool. These rooms feature a king bed, private sundeck, outdoor shower and outdoor dining area. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child.
One Bedroom Beach Pool Villas are larger in size than Beach Pool Villas (210sqm) and feature a separate bedroom area and large living space, as well as an additional private sundeck. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults.
Family Beach Pool Villas are conveniently located near the hotel's kids club. These rooms are 180sqm and come with a master king bedroom and a separate bedroom containing a sofa bed. We stayed durining christmas this has to be the best place to crlebrate. The gala dinner was on the beach near the lighthouse was an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived at the Intercontinental Maldives Resort, we knew we were in for something extraordinary. Even from stepping foot on the lounge, under the amazing hospitality of Fikree, we were still blown away upon arrival to the resort. Our 10-night stay was an absolute dream, marked by impeccable service, exceptional dining, and unparalleled luxury.
First and foremost, the staff deserves a special mention. They were nothing short of spectacular. Every member of the team seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had the chance to think of them. Whether it was offering refreshing drinks during the hot afternoons or knowing exactly how to tailor the experience to our preferences (being alcohol-free), their attention to detail was flawless. What impressed me most was how proactive the team was. They didn't just react to requests—they foresee needs, which made the stay feel even more personal and special.
The food throughout the resort was a highlight of our stay. Every meal was an indulgence. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the service at every restaurant was impeccable, with stunning views of the ocean that made every meal feel like an event.
The room itself was an absolute sanctuary. Spacious, beautifully designed, and cleaned to perfection twice a day, it was clear that the resort prioritises comfort and cleanliness. The privacy offered was beyond impressive, making it the perfect place to unwind. Waking up to the sound of nature and the breathtaking view every morning was truly surreal.
One of the places we found ourselves returning to every day was the Retreat Lounge. It was a serene, tranquil spot to relax after a day full of activities or just to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Whether for lunch or enjoying a chilled coffee during the included afternoon tea or simply lounging in the beautiful environment, it became one of our favourite parts of the resort.
We wanted to specifically thank Arya from Cafe Umi, chef David (Cafe Umi) who cooked a wonderful Mediterranean dinner for us one night, Joy at the Retreat who knew exactly what drinks to get us without us even uttering a word, Bob our Island Curator who kept us updated, and constantly wanted to make the experience even better for us without knowing it was already a perfect one, Fikree from the airport team who is the kindest person and a huge asset to the resort and Jocelyn from the Fish Market whose energy and passion is viral! On our last day, we had the chance to meet Zain, with whom we had a very constructive conversation and we both thank him for that! Upon our arrival we met Jude, the Resort Manager whom we kept seeing almost daily and always made sure we had everything we needed. Last but not least, the person we never expected to be seeing daily (whether during breakfast, dinner, or sometimes both), the General Manager of the resort, Reinhold. This on its own, should show readers what the resort is all about. The fact that the GM was so readily available, every single day and went through every table to discuss and make sure any issues are being rectified, to us, means everything. We had a lot of conversations about the resort as well as the country in general and we enjoyed every single one of them. Leading by example at its best!
All in all, our time at the Intercontinental Maldives Resort was nothing short of spectacular. From the flawless service to the stunning accommodations and the overall sense of peace and privacy, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We'll be eagerly looking forward to our next stay at this beautiful paradise and we highly recommend it to everyone that wants to create new, luxurious memories!
