Where is it

Kandima Maldives Resort is a 45 minutes Seaplane ride from the Male International Airport and the views on the way make this transfer an excursion in itself. 

Hotel information

264 vibrant and energetically designed studios and villa, epitomise the fun and excitement of a Maldives holiday. Each studio and villa is equipped with complimentary WiFi, in-room entertainment system, mini-bar*, hair-dryer, safe and coffee machine. Beach & Sky Studios are 55 sqm and are located across a two storey villa, perfectly situated along the beach. Each studio comes with either a terrace or Sky studios have private balcony with balcony swing. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child.

Dine Around All Inclusive includes: buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner at Flavour and Zest. Dinner can also be enjoyed at the resort's a la carte restaurants Smoked, Sea Dragon or Azure from the chef's menu.

Guests are also entitled to:

- Unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

- Mini-bar (wine, beer, soft beverages and snacks will be restocked once a day)

- Water sports: complimentary rental of snorkelling equipment, standard kayaks, and paddle boards (1-hour daily)

Bed & Breakfast includes: daily buffet breakfast at Flavour or Zest restaurants and also includes unlimited soft drinks during meal time.

Room upgrades

Beach Villa with Swirl Pool are 97sqm and are located on the beach, lagoon side of the island. The rooms features a semi-outdoor bathroom with hot tub, rainfall shower and day bed. The villa has a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Sleeping a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children.

Sunrise or Sunset Beach Pool Villa's with Swirl Pool are a slightly larger 105sqm and feature the same great bathroom amenities as the Beach Villa with Swirl Pool, with the addition of a bathtub and a plunge pool on the private sundeck. Both come with amazing views of either the sunrise or sunset. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children.

Aqua Villa's are 73sqm overwater villas that have extensive views of the lagoon from not only the private sundeck, but also the bathroom which features a freestanding bathtub. Have one king size bed and sleep a maximum of 2 adults.

Aqua Villa with Swirl Pool are the same size as the Aqua Villa but have the addition of a swirl pool on the private sundeck. Have one king size bed and sleep a maximum of 2 adults.

Ocean Pool Villas are 95sqm and feature a private sundeck with it's own plunge pool overlooking the ocean. Have one king size bed and a sofa bed, sleeping a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children.

Sunset Aqua Pool Suites are the largest overwater villas, located at the end of the jetty for the most impressive, uninterrupted views. This rooms features a separate living area and a suitably sized infinity pool. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

Two Bedroom Family Sky Suites are perfect for a Maldivian family getaway. This suite has two bedrooms, interconnected by the lounge area. One bedroom contains a king size bed and the other a bunk bed. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children.

Breeze Beach Bar (live music and refreshments, open 10:00am to 12:00am). Beach Club Kandima (live music and refreshments, open 10:00am to 18:00pm). What an amazing place! From start to finish! The staff especially Rasal Rajesh who looked after us for the whole trip, our villa was cleaned every morning and the fridge restocked, cannot wait to be back, highly recommend a beach villa with private pool! Just amazing!

Beautiful Island, very clean, friendly and good food. Breeze bar is amazing, especially lovely staff Mr. Rasal, Rajesh and Jilu make amazing cockatils and are exceptionally friendly. I absolute recommend this destination! Beautiful clean warm see also!

Stayed for 9 days in the Aqua Villa. CONS: The entire aqua villa room shakes when any carts or bicycles drive on the boardwalk connecting the rooms — very disturbing. View from the bathroom was excellent (the only thing we appreciated). The ladder on the aqua villa deck into the water does not reach all the way down, which made it very difficult and dangerous to get into and out of the water (this was something we had never experienced before at other Maldives resorts, such as Cinnamon Velifushi, which was a pleasure to stay at). My wife was bitten by bedbugs all over her body. Mr. Mohammed, the manager of reservations for Kandima, argued with us that the bites were not from bedbugs, even though my wife is a board-certified physician in the US, and the bites were tell-tale bed bug bites. He admitted that the couple in the aqua villa next door had just complained about bed bug bites, but that his housekeeping and exterminating team could not confirm that there were bed bugs, so they ignored the issue and never advised any other guests of the problem. After extensive argument with Mr. Mohammed, he forced us to see the resort doctor to prove that the bites were actually from bed bugs, saying that he didn’t care my wife was in pain. The resort doctor (a very nice guy) confirmed that the bites were from bed bugs after a physical examination. Mr. Mohammed was even arguing after the doctor confirmed that the bites were from bed bugs. Thankfully, the doctor was very honest and directly advised the housekeeping team about the bed bug issue. The buffet food was below average, so I suggest booking the breakfast-only option and eat in the a la carte restaurants. There is live music and DJ music many nights, but we could often hear the music too loudly from our aqua villa halfway across the island. We booked the aqua villa to see the see life and snorkel, but there is not much sea life to be seen close to the aqua villas. PROS: Watersports activities from the island are plentiful and fun, but require a separate fee. The spa offered excellent massages and other treatments. Read less

We had the all-inclusive package and found it to be very good value. We spent a lot of time at Breeze pool and found the service there to be very good, in particular Rasal. He was so kind to us every day, always saying hello and welcoming us every day at the pool, defo our favourite member of staff. We had a sky studio and it had amazing views of the beach every morning. The food buffets were great, everything was fresh. I also loved just walking around the island. Read less
