The hotel

Famed as the first tourist resort in the Maldives, this excellent hotel has a wide range of facilities with a fantastic array of restaurants serving cuisine from across the world. With a lively natural house reef in the beautiful Indian Ocean, fantastic diving and snorkelling opportunities lie within easy reach. Hotel information

All rooms with air conditioning and fans, safe, flat screen TV, satellite television stations, outdoor standing shower, indoor standing shower, bathtub, bathrobes, hairdryer, mini-bar, complimentary WiFi, beach towels, premium amenities, iron and ironing board, and tea/coffee and hot chocolate making facilities. Superior Rooms are conveniently located, with either a terrace or balcony, open-plan bathroom, and 1 daybed. With 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child/infant.


Breakfast Included: buffet breakfast or premium a la carte breakfast, dependent on room category booked. 

Half Board: includes dinner at the main restaurant (buffet). 

Full Board Plus: lunch and dinner at the main restaurant with beverages (a selection of soft drinks, canned juices, water, coffee, tea, wines, liquors and cocktails during meal times at the main restaurant only. 

Dine Around All Inclusive: lunch with a choice of two menus in three locations, with beverages. Dinner with a choice of seven restaurants, with beverages. Additional beverage outlets (Athiri, Kandu Bar and Fex) with a selection of soft drinks, canned juices, water, coffee, tea, wines, liquors and cocktails. Choice of excurions (glass bottom boat, Male tour, Sunset and Dolphin Cruise). Minimum 4 night stay.

Deluxe Bungalows provide privacy in verdant surroundings, just steps from the beach with an open plan bathroom and outdoor daybed. With 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children/teens.

Beachfront Deluxe Bungalows are cosy and well appointed, with sun loungers on the private terrace by the white sand and sparkling ocean. With 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children/teens.

Garden Pool Villas are nestled in the tropical gardens, with a private courtyard, open-plan bathroom, and private plunge pool. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults and 1 child/infant/teen, or 2 adults, 1 child/teen and 1 infant.

Beach Villas are perfectly positioned for catching the sunrise, and generously spaced, with a separate lounge and an intimate garden spa tub. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant.

Deluxe Pool Villas are spacious villas with their own private pool, a sitting room, and a private deck with breath taking ocean and garden views. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults, 2 children/teens, and 1 infant.

Family Villas are two-level villas, with stunning ocean views and secluded lounging. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults, 2 children/teens, and 1 infant.

The Two Bedroom Kurumba Residence is expansive, with a private pool / spa tub in both wings. Sleeping maximum 6 adults, or 4 adults, 2 children/teens, and 2 infants.

Firstly I must say that most holidays spots have one or two great employees then good then some not so much! Karumba in the Maldives exceeded all my expectations from housekeeping to the restaurant to then excursions to the management. Firstly great beach great watered and great activities. Room always brilliantly done KYLE smashed this and left me a super nice surprise on last day. Excursions- now firstly ask for AIK and try the shark snorkelling tour- this man made sure that not only me but also my family had a great once in a lifetime experience. Smart, knowledgeable and actively working with clients he made us comfortable, safe and truly was one of the two best guides I e ever had in my lifetime of travel 5plus starts to AIK. Our manager and liasion Haamid Wajeeh was an exceptional point of contact on this whole trip which sums up the truly exceptional service. Not only did he manage our stay and bookings but if there was anything we needed he quickly and professionally accommodated us. Key position done brilliantly. Lastly to the owners of the resort I’ve never heard a staff talk more lovingly and respectfully about someone. Well done you truly have shaped a business that exemplifies service to the greatest degree & by the way your GM is quite the gentleman! The stay at Kurumba Maldives was nothing short of extraordinary! From the warm welcome at arrival, with the lovely Sivilya and the reception team ensuring the impeccable service throughout, it truly felt like paradise. Delightful breakfast—the freshest food, the best croissants, and good coffee-thanks to the attentive breakfast team. Afternoons by the pool, overlooking the ocean and swaying palms, were pure relaxation, while evenings at Athiri Bar sipping Hayot’s incredible margaritas during sunset were magical. The culinary experiences were unforgettable!!! Chef Pedro’s Japanese creations at Hamakaze, paired with a teppanyaki show, made rainy evenings enjoyable, while Thila offered a fine dining experience to remember. Special thanks to waiters Brian and Pranay for their witty and knowledgeable service, and to Chef Shashika for going above and beyond to care for guests.
