Where is it

Located on Ailafushi Island in Male Atoll, and connected to the neighbouring island OBLU SELECT Lobigili by a 270m long jetty. Complimentary speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport on arrival and departure, taking approximately 15 minutes.

268 rooms, all with ocean views, in-villa WiFi access, safe, large flat screen LCD TV, cable TV, vanity, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, drinking water bottles, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and robe and slippers. Ocean View Rooms are snug, homey, duplex-style one-bedroom villas, smartly designed to maximise space and comfort, and with a veranda with comfy daybed. Beach Villas are just a few steps from the beach, with a private outdoor veranda and garden, inviting interior, walk-in wardrobe leading to a spa-like bathroom, double vanity, and a semi open-air bathroom. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Water Villas stretch into the dazzling lagoon, and are accessed by wooden jetty. Each water villa is shaped like a traditional Maldivian Boat – a ‘dhoni’ – creating a feeling of a romantic hideaway. With a private deck, and a staircase into the water, and a semi open-air bathroom. 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

We had an amazing time at Oblu Xperience! The supervisor was incredibly helpful, ensuring we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay. Additionally, Tajuddin (Taj) from the kitchen graciously accommodated our special request, going above and beyond. I will definitely be returning in the future!

If you looking for snorkelling activities, then this island does not have a house reef. There is some marine life on the W side of the island by the bridge and around the breakwater, but the current can be strong for beginners. Read less

Arrived at Velana airport and difficult to locate OBLU representative but when we did we were taken to speedboat immediately and it was a 15 min journey to the island. Met by staff half heartedly clapping and led to reception where we were given a talk about the island. Then shown to room which was a bungalow style villa right on the beachfront. The villa was lovely, very clean with drinks and water in the fridge and tea and coffee, which were replenished daily. The bed was huge and very comfortable bed. Lovely area with sunbeds outside the door. Our cleaner did a great job every day. Our daughter was staying in our room but the bed was not made up and so I called reception who came immediately. Air con excellent in room but bathroom which is partly outside was absolutely boiling hot with just an old rusty wall fan which served no purpose. The beach was deserted outside our room but that could have something to do with the constant drilling and hammering going on at the end of the Beach which was so disappointing, when you want to relax. The buffet restaurant was very good with a good choice of food at breakfast lunch and dinner with a well stocked fridge of coke, Fanta,sprite, tonic, water, beer and a self serve wine section, waiters cleared dirty plates efficiently. The pool area was busy but plenty of sunbeds, parasols and towels, the only downside was the constant very very very loud music which started at 10 and went on all day. There were singers on every night Which again was very loud and I don’t think the flashing lights are necessary, sometimes it’s just nice to lie and listen to the sea lapping. The drinks are plentiful but not very good, cocktails and wine are terrible and the spirits are non-branded. We visited the spa twice which was absolutely fantastic and would definitely recommend a visit. My hubby and daughter went on the snorkelling trip and said it was very good and got to swim with sharks. This is our 3rd time visiting the beautiful Maldives and Overall we had a lovely holiday, but not sure if we would return to this particular hotel again. If you. Are looking for relaxation and a bit of luxury this may not be the place for you. Read less

My wife and I spent two weeks recently at the Oblu Xperience resort for our honeymoon and we had the best time. The staff were all so friendly and the rooms were modern spotless, cleaned daily by very hard working staff. We would like to mention Abu, he really made our holiday, helping us when we needed it and such a kind, lovely guy a real asset to the resort. Beaches and views were stunning and the Oblu underwater restaurant is an absolute must, wow what an experience. Plenty of water sports and excursions to choose from and we really enjoyed the bait fishing trip, my wife caught two beautiful fish to my zero lol. The sea life is in abundance and we saw so many sharks, sting rays so many different fish species around our reef, such a magical experience. The food was excellent with plenty to choose from, I particular loved the fish dishes and not one bone found in any of my dishes which is phenomenal filleting from the chefs and wow the puddings. We had professional photos done on resort and we were so happy with the results and highly recommend this. The photographer Ibrahim done an exceptional job and the quality of his work was superb, and a really nice man. The romantic dinner for two was just so magical, having our own waiter, and the 5 courses served with excellent wine is a must. Our waiter Sohan done a grand job. Compliments to the many chefs wow they can really cook to perfection. We also really enjoyed the nightlife and lively DJ, with excellent cocktails. We had the best honeymoon ever and highly recommend this resort and such a slick operation from arrival to end, compliments to all the staff and management and we would certainly love to go back again someday.
