We had an incredible holiday at Finolhu to celebrate a special birthday with our 2 young children. I loved that the resort is just as good as adults as it is for children. Our kids never usually go to kids club but they absolutely loved going here which gave us a few hours every afternoon to have some time to ourselves and they actually wanted to go in the evenings too so we had dinner by ourselves one night while the kids were at a neon disco party! Our villa was absolutely incredible and we loved going down to the beach to watch the sunset every night. Special mention to our butler Ming who was fantastic with the kids and couldn’t do enough for us, it was a pleasure meeting her and the kids loved her. The buffet was very good, I think there is perhaps room for a little improvement if I was being picky but it is very very good. Kanusan and the crab shack are absolutely top notch and we had a couple of very special evenings dining here. In particular the sea food market night at crab shack on our last night which was just magical. We also enjoyed a lovely lunch at the crab shack and the kids loved getting the boat there and back. We also loved the entertainment and it was great to have the option to sit and have a few drinks after dinner as a lot of resorts are quiet in the evenings. However they’ve got the tone perfect here and it never feels too much or like too much of a party which is great. All of the staff are fantastic and incredibly attentive and the portions/ measures with drinks and food are incredibly generous so the premium all inclusive package definitely felt worth it. I also have to mention the airport staff who helped us with luggage and walked with us right up to the gate. This was a really nice touch and just felt like a really nice way to end the whole Finolhu experience. I think perhaps it might be nice to have one more restaurant but that’s only because I loved the others, I just wanted more of everything because it’s so good! The kids also loved milk lab and loved stopping here to get a cake or a milkshake and play on the monkey bars. A truly special place that I’d love to return to one day Read less

We stayed at Finolhu for 8 days fro our belated honeymoon. From start to finish our experience was top class - could not fault it in any way. We flew direct to Male from Heathrow with Virgin. Flight was fine and on arrival we were greeted at the airport and taken to the seaplane terminal where we waited for the onward flight. Food and drinks were available and our host produced hot food on request. Our Roohu, Saanih, contacted us by WhatsApp and greeted us on arrival at Finolhu. Saanih helped us with buggy transport, meal bookings etc for the week. He was lovely, prompt and gave the right amount of support (not too intrusive at all). The food is top notch, again no issues. We were premium all inclusive, so ate at Crab Shack (our favourite) and Kanusan (Asian) several times. All the waiters and waitresses are fantastic and the attention to detail is top class. Upul and all of the team made us welcome and looked after our dining beautifully. Such a relaxing and beautiful place. We would love to return someday. Read less

We’ve never returned to the same hotel in the past but with Finolhu we made an exception and don’t regret our decision. We loved every second of our stay - just as much as we did the first time around! The overwater villa is stunningly beautiful, the views never get old and the room terrace is probably one of the best in the Maldives. The food is incredible, we absolutely love Kanusan and Crab Shack but really enjoyed the Arabian Grill and Beach Kitchen as well. As a celiac I am always a little nervous to eat out but I did not have to worry a bit. Gayan, the executive pastry chef checked in with me daily to see if I got everything I needed and went out of his way to provide extra or adapted dishes. In every restaurant chefs made changes to dishes to make them gluten free and I really appreciated the extra effort! The atmosphere at crab shack is unparalleled and life could not get better when you’re enjoying lunch there. Upul takes great care of guests and always has an eye on emptying glasses. The sushi at Kanusan is amazing and the sushi master even showed us how to make our favorite rolls at home. Saif and all other waiters were always really friendly, up for a chat and answering questions. Hanim, our roohu took great care of us and made sure all reservations were in place. The house keeping team is phenomenal, always quick and efficient, the executive housekeeper, Sajimon, so friendly and caring! We enjoyed a few massages at the spa, Devi and Lakshmi are amazing at their job and left us refreshed and utterly relaxed! The bar at night is a great spot to enjoy a drink, Moustafa always greeted us with a smile and knew our order. The entertainment team does a great job as well! We loved the snorkeling excursions and the Dhoni shuttles where we saw plenty of sea life and even just walking down the jetty provides great entertainment spotting rays, sharks and various fish. The white party is a great idea and it’s so much fun to meet the staff and ask them all island related questions - coming from the hospitality industry ourselves, it’s really interesting for us to discuss island logistics etc and everyone was really nice about answering all our questions :) Unfortunately I don’t remember all the names but the entire team is so amazingly friendly, always smiling, from the welcome team through to the technicians and lifeguards. Finolhu is a truly special place and will definitely remain our happy place! Thank you for making our vacation another truly special one. Read less

Our stay at Finolhu Maldives was overall incredible, with just a couple of small areas that could be improved. Positive Experiences We opted for the premium all-inclusive package, and it was worth every penny. The villas were stunning, providing the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The massages at the spa were phenomenal – so relaxing and rejuvenating! One of the highlights for us was the wide range of activities and programs available, especially when traveling with a child. There was always something exciting to do, and we never felt bored. I have to say, the buffet dining exceeded all my expectations. The food was delicious, fresh, and incredibly diverse. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality and variety offered every day, even during themed nights. Whatever special requests I had, they were always accommodated, which truly impressed me. In addition to the buffet, there were three à la carte restaurants, each with its own unique style. This added a wonderful variety to our dining experiences, especially since we were staying on a single island. Lastly, I want to give a special shoutout to our butler, Asma. She was absolutely amazing—kind, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. Even during busy times, she made sure that all our needs were met and that everything was perfectly organized. Areas for Improvement While the buffet food itself was excellent, I did notice that some of the staff at the buffet seemed less enthusiastic, with facial expressions and behavior suggesting they weren’t particularly happy to be there. It stood out as a contrast to the otherwise warm service across the resort. Additionally, even though the all-inclusive package was extensive and included so much, I found it a bit surprising that there were still additional charges for certain items, such as food by the pool. This was the only area where extra payments were required, and it felt out of place given the premium nature of the package and our longer reservation. Despite these small concerns, Finolhu Maldives remains a paradise, and I would absolutely recommend it for families or anyone looking for a luxurious getaway. Read less
