Overall, I can say that we had a dream honeymoon; the island is stunning, and visiting the Maldives was my dream come true. I did extensive research on locations, and working in tourism, I know every location has its pros and cons. Cons of Villa Park (though there are fewer of these): Entertainment: The resort doesn’t excel in this area. There are few activities, with occasional evening events like live music or karaoke that end early. Daytime activities are mostly limited to things like yoga at the pool. Transfer from Malé Airport to the resort and back: Transfers are done via small planes (approx. 20 minutes flight), followed by a 5-minute speedboat ride. The issue is that there are only three flights a day, so you might have to wait a long time at the airport depending on your transfer schedule. For example, our return flight was at 11:00 PM, but we were picked up at 2:00 PM from the hotel. At the airport in Malé, a representative tried to scam us by directing us to a contact they had an arrangement with for tours in Malé. There was a lounge for those with long waiting times like us, but when we asked where we could leave our luggage, they sent us to a paid counter. Only after insisting did they mention the lounge. Room keycard issues: One day, our room keycard stopped working. We notified three different staff members but waited 40 minutes outside the room before someone came to help. Even then, the keycard only worked for a few hours before failing again. Housekeeping issues: On one occasion, housekeeping took one of our wet beach towels but didn’t replace it, leaving us with just one. In general, cleanliness wasn’t great. I had to request shower gel when it ran out, along with other missing essentials. Pros: Spacious island: The island is large enough that it never felt crowded, except in the restaurant. Food: The food was excellent and varied. I recommend booking at least full board. With full board, unlimited water is provided during meals and in your room (at least 1 liter per person/day). Drinks are relatively pricey: $6 for soft drinks, $8 for beer, $10–20 for cocktails, and $10 for milkshakes. We particularly enjoyed the service provided by Manik at the restaurant. Best accommodation location: I recommend staying on the southern side of the island (sunset side), where the water is calmer, with fewer waves and less wind compared to the northern side. Most rooms are renovated, with major changes made in 2022. Renovations are ongoing, but even the unrenovated rooms are in great condition. We stayed in Room 288 and were extremely satisfied. Snorkeling: This is a fantastic location for snorkeling, with many spots in both shallow and deep water. There is a specially designated area for this. Daily wildlife feeding: At 6:30 PM every day, you can participate in feeding the stingrays and sharks for free. Amenities and features: Mini zoo and botanical garden, where the staff eagerly explains the plants and flowers. Bicycle rentals for $7/day make it easier to get around. Free buggy rides are available to transport guests to their rooms or elsewhere on the island. You can request one from the reception or call from your room. If it rains, umbrellas are provided for free. Excellent internet connection throughout the island, including in the rooms and bars. Beach: Fine, soft sand with a gradual entrance into the water on the southern side. On the northern side, the water entry is steeper. You can sunbathe anywhere on the island. Sandbank: There is a picturesque sandbank, which is one of the resort’s highlights. Tides: While noticeable, the tides are not particularly disruptive. Water supply: Having unlimited water in the room was a huge plus. Minimal insects: Other than mosquitoes, flies, and dragonflies, we didn’t encounter other bugs. There are also free-roaming parrots and flying foxes (fruit bats), but they pose no danger. Children’s facilities: There’s a kids’ club with various activities. In conclusion, despite some minor inconveniences, our overall experience at Villa Park was fantastic, and it truly felt like a dream vacation. Read less

I've just returned from Villa Park, and it was sensational. Everything was perfect. From the domestic flights from Malé to the speed boat from the neighbouring Island, everything went like clockwork and was perfectly organised, with a great and fully informative welcome from out host, Peri. The Island is a paradise of nature, marine life, eco friendliness, turquoise blue water, the finest white sand and picture postcard photo opportunities. We stayed in Water Villa and it was completely worth the little bit extra. Wakening up each morning to hear the Indian Ocean lapping gently underneath the villa and seeing lots of marine life swimming under the villa, was incredible. The highest standard of food, amenities and services throughout the entire complex is what you expect here, and it's what you get. The sports opportunities are fantastic, with 4 tennis courts, 2 badminton courts, Table Tennis tables, a really great gym, bicycle hire available, 2 full size snooker, 3 tables and 3 pool tables, a squash court, snorkelling, water sports, and much more, plus a great spa, sauna, jacuzzi, ice bath etc., which we used a lot and the staff in the sports complex became our friends over the time we stayed. The choice of food in all the restaurants was varied, tasteful and plentiful, cooked to a really high standard and the chef's were always willing to offer suggestions or add a special little touch just to meet your preference or liking. The food in the Thai restaurant was so good, and although we didn't try the Japanese, every time we walked past it, it looked amazing and the chef was always interacting with the customers. There are just so many bars and restaurants on this Island and all are a fabulous standard, and all the staff in each of them make you feel special, and feel "at home". The standard of the accommodation and the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard, and my room was serviced twice per day, plus daily minibar restocking. The pool and the main beach were fantastic, with a main bar, a swim up pool bar and the assistance of beach attendant, Shamim, who every day organised sun loungers for us, laid out our towels and made sure we had great spots on the beach, was one of the things we appreciated so much. We dined mainly at the Southern Star restaurant, where Amamjot and Smita both looked after us so well. They always made sure everything was perfect with our table, got the table of our choice, always made sure our drinks glasses were full and became our friends during our stay. Every meal, we looked forward to meeting the two of them again, seeing their friendly smiles and chatting with them about our day and our activities. On their days off, we actually really did miss them. Every single member of staff in the Mekunu Bar was sensational. Always so polite, so friendly, so professional and so helpful in every way they could. It's perhaps a little unfair to single out anyone of the staff in this bar as they were all so great, but Sonu and Aaisha were truly exceptional. They always took perfect care of us, chatted with us about our day or evening, always knew which drinks we liked and always made sure we never sat waiting for service. I honestly awakened each morning, looking forward to meeting them again that day and left the island with a feeling of friendship with them both and I hope to meet them both again someday soon. Such lovely people. Thanks everyone for such a wonderful stay. Can't wait to come back. Read less

We recently stayed at the Park Villa Sun Island, and our experience was truly wonderful. Everything was excellent, from the outstanding service to the breathtaking beauty of the island itself. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The island is stunning and impeccably maintained, offering a perfect tropical paradise. We’d like to give a special thanks to Eliza for her amazing assistance—her kindness and professionalism truly stood out and made our stay even more enjoyable. The only area for improvement would be the food. While the quality was good, the selection remained largely the same each day. It would be great if they introduced a more varied menu, perhaps offering themed cuisine nights like Italian, Japanese, or fish day. An all-inclusive resort-style rotation would be ideal. We had an amazing 10 days with our family and are so grateful for the wonderful experience. Thank you so much! Read less
