The service at this hotel is excellent. Everyone has a smile on the face and all the staff are great. Food is very good too, worth trying different dishes you wouldn't usually choose, you will be pleasantly surprised!

The hotel is on the beach and there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. There is a lovely rooftop bar which is the ideal place for a sundowner.
Very easy to get a taxi and go out and explore the island.
This is my second visit here and it won't be my last!
Highly recommend.

I spent ten days at Salt Of Palmar and, honestly, I could have stayed another week. The hotel itself is gorgeous - the attention to detail is incredible (I found little hidden things even on my last day - like a box of free reading glasses in case you had forgotten your own) and the people who work there could not have been more welcoming.

Rishi, the manager, knows exactly what he's doing. He's so thoughtful and professional and is determined to make sure you have a good time. There are so many things on offer but no hard selling of trips like in other hotels.
The room was so comfortable. The bed - I just didn't want to get out of it - was like sleeping on a cloud. There's a speaker that you can connect to, a great shower and a small balcony. The room isn't huge but let's face it, you don't go to Mauritius to stay in your room.
The pool area is stunning. I don't know how they do it but the area around the sun loungers is always immaculate. No fighting over spaces, no towels left at breakfast to hog the loungers - everyone is encouraged to relax, enjoy and share the facilities.
The restaurant is a real highlight. The food was exceptional. No buffet food as it's wasteful so everything cooked to order. Chef comes round to talk to the guests and if there's something you particularly want to eat they will make it for you. I would encourage you to eat the local food. The dishes are incredible. So tasty. The bar staff are friendly and helpful and can make good cocktails. There's a rooftop bar which is really special. Great views...
I made good use of the spa which I loved. The treatment was excellent and there's a salt cave which is really restorative. I skipped the gym as I was on holiday but it's a pretty decent setup.
The beach: Well - having travelled around most of the island on a scooter (which I highly recommend. The roads on the east are very safe but I would avoid Port Louis on a scooter) I think that this is the nicest beach I visited. It's very calm and tranquil and miles away from the touristy feel of the north. If you want to relax then this is the place.
This gem of a hotel only has 59 rooms so you feel like you are in an upscale boutique hotel. A lot of hotels feel corporate - not so here. I really cannot recommend it highly enough.
I'm already planning a trip back - I can't wait. One of the best holidays I've ever had. It would be unfair to single people out, they are all amazing, and it's a nice touch that you get to know them quickly by the names on their t-shirts. Thanks to you all!

A slice of Paradise

This is our 2nd visit in 12 months to this slice of heaven in the Mauritian east coast. We stayed for 11 nights again, on an all-inclusive basis for a couple taking a bang on the beach room. We arrived to a beautiful cake and champagne for my birthday and a personalised birthday card in our room and were welcomed back as family by everyone we met.
The room is very spacious and decorated simply but elegantly with the style of the hotel carried through. There is a radio and no TV which was one of the selling points for us to have the ability to switch off. The storage is plentiful for 2 weeks clothing and we loved the spa toiletries in the spacious shower and bathroom area. The bed in very comfy and linens are a fantastic quality. The view from the end of the bed is onto a small balcony with chairs with the most beautiful view of the ocean which is absolutely stunning.
The food and beverage team are just wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, the chefs cater for any changes you wish to make to the menu and the food is very wholesome and delicious with a wide range of meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options. Chef Shiva is an incredible asset and produces delicious dishes to allow you the chance to try many different food types throughout the day and evening.
Med and his team in the restaurant are attentive, efficient and incredibly helpful and friendly. We feel totally looked after and very lucky to be able to be here again, the food and service is just wonderful, Mauritian and authentic. Rishi the Front of House Manager is truly a delight and made booking excursions and trips so easy from arranging transport to providing early breakfast in the restaurant and food boxes for the days out. He has a wealth of knowledge on all things local and helps everyone to get the most out of their trip and nothing is too much trouble
All in all, from the wonderful outdoor team arranging the daily free snorkelling and glass bottom boat trips, to the housekeeping team, food and beverage crew and all the grounds and site team, this is a wonderful hotel that I was reluctantly writing a review for as I don’t want the word to get out about it so it becomes so popular but everyone here ensures you have the very best, fully relaxed and calm holiday on this beautiful island !!

Eclectic, bohemian vibe - nice small hotel
Jan 26, 2025Ahma0023
Small hotel, very friendly staff, eclectic vibe and extra goodies that add an additional feel that they really care - from stocking gym, flavored water at beach, towel service etc.
Gift shop has Belle Toile clothing which is local designer, priced almost the same as outside!
