Solana Beach Mauritius

The hotel

Waiting for your drinks to arrive as you laze on white sands, shaded by a coconut palm. Taking a dip in a lagoon pool among tropical plants and dining and drinking terraces. Stepping out on your balcony to soak in endless sea views before heading out for dinner. This may be the stuff of daydreams, but it’s the true island experience guests come to enjoy when staying at the adults-only Solana Beach. It does deliver a delicious cliché, but this hotel also comes with its own unique twists, like the nod to the sixties and seventies in your spacious guestroom, which is otherwise thoroughly modern. It also gives you the option to do absolutely nothing – or to pack your days with cycling, diving, snorkelling, and even complimentary glass-bottom boat trips, and your nights with island entertainment and meals in three delectable restaurants.

Well, where to begin! It was my husband birthday gift! We Booked two night in this hotel, and we had to relocate to another hotel the next day! The staffs are very unproffessional! Lack of kindness! Arrogant attitude. A sunday night, no animation was proposed they said that it was cancelled .. when we arrived we were at the pool and we asked for a drink the guy said pool service is already over, but the next day no one came for assistance, we had to go by ourselves all the time and had our drinks. We asked for a Cofee they said we can't have it because they put some solution in the machine! No sorry or they could proposed us something else. Very bad attitude from the waiters who were talking , shouting around the guests. Food was quiet good, lack of variety. It was mentionned Asian food on the board, but no Asian food were served at the buffet! Drinks not good at all, we were on an all inclusive package, but mojito and a lot of drinks are not included! More over, We were in our room, a lady from housekeeping knocked at the door and she entered the room without waiting for me to open! The service is not worth the price at all. Nevertheless, we said Thank you to the Customer service manager Anusha who took our complaints seriously, she did the necessaries for the cancellation. Read less

Solana beach hotel is one of the best hotels in Mauritius 🇲🇺 I had incredible stay in the hotel. The facilities, the hospitality and the services, and all staff were fantastic. We spent an amazing vacation. We had so much fun especially with all the activities that the entertainment team has to offer everyday all day long! Going to the hotel using the all inclusive package was the perfect one to choose. Highly recommend it!!

Just stayed here with friends to celebrate a major birthday and loved the hotel. Staff were excellent and helpful (though the attitude of the ladies on the till in the Indigo Bar could be more friendly). Sunil, the manager was always present along with his management team to make your stay perfect. The food in general was very good. Pomelo, the a la carte restaurant had a good selection of dishes though some dishes had a supplement which appears to be the norm with many hotels these days (hence my comment, it's not fully AI). That said, we never failed to find something good to eat. Cinnamone, the buffet restaurant had a very good choice of food and had different themes on most nights. Curry for breakfast was one of our favourites. Secrets Corner was never open so cannot comment. For drinks there was a good selection of local drinks at Indigo Bar, though many again had a supplement. Dom and Anthony were always around to help with drinks. Coco Bar was always open but we we were always directed to Indigo for our drinks. Lakaz Rum bar drinks were an additional cost though we did get to get 2 free samples of their own rum. Unfortunately due to staff shortages the bar was closed more than it was open during our stay. We found the beer in our mini bar better than the beer from Indigo so usually drank that first. One criticism is they need a bar at the bar end of the complex which I believe they are addressing, though to be honest it was a nice walk to the bar. The fact sheet mentions Beach Service. We saw it once on the day we arrived but never again during our stay. It wasn't a problem as it was a nice walk to Indigo. For activities the evening entertainment was very good and the free water sport activities very good. We also paid to do helmet diving at an additional cost and was one of the highlights of our holiday. Do take currency if you can as card payments were an issue but not impossible. For our stay we had a Prestige room which was very spacious and always well maintained by the hotel. All rooms appear to have a sea view and balcony which is nice. Beware the beach and sea as there's a lot of coral and would advise taking water shoes. To summarise, this is a very good hotel, clean, comfortable and reasonably well maintained, with no issues and if we ever returned to Mauritius would consider this hotel. Read less
