We arrived early at 8.00 am and our room was not available, the check-in start at 3 pm. We asked if possible have another room to rest and take a shower, we came from South Africa tour.
Unfortunately all of the standard rooms were already booked. The first suggestion from the front desk was to get a one night upgrade to the Suite.
So, after spent 2 hours at the pool lying on the sunbed we decided we were too tired and accepted the upgrade with promise our standard room would have been ready the day after. We enjoied the Suite, It is opulent. Even if I expected a better level of soundproof, we heard the music from the outside and also the people talking in the hall.
The next morning we had a city tour and went to the front desk before leave to return the Suite key and take the key for our Standard room. "Unfortunately" the room wasn't available yet... What a coincidence, how possibile? The front desk told us the manager gave us permission to use the Suite till the Standard was ready.
We back at the hotel at 3.15 pm after the tour, went to the front desk and guess what, our Standard wasn't ready yet and the front desk wasn't able to tell us how many time we had to wait cause they were still verifying the room passed control.
After 30 min and saying we were more than happy to use the Suite "free of charge" for another night suddenly the Standard was ready for our check-in.
We spent the remaining 4 night sleeping well. Just curious, the Standard is better spoundproofed than the Suite.
We had buffet breakfast included, so we enjoied the restaurant inside the hotel indicated from the front desk at our arrival. You can't just walk in the restaurant and take a seat. They ask you to make a queue and wait the waiter or waitress take you to a table.
All food I tried for an Italian breakfast is really fine and good.
The last morning arrived and we went to the front desk for the check-out.
With our big surprise the Marriott had added to the bill a lot of extras not due.
1) One extra night in the Suite, how? I complain the manager behind the scene for this, It was his directive.
2) All breakfast on payment (75€ per day). They Just told us there is difference between buffet breakfast and restaurant breakfast. So what, It is not out fault, was the front desk to indicate where to go the first morning for breakfast. And we had buffet breakfast booked from the travel agency.
We spent 20 mins at the front desk explaining multiple times we had breakfast included and also the second night for the Suite was not spent at all. I do not blame the guys at front desk, It was their manager entire fault.
At the end we closed the checkout correctly.
So, any of you spending time to the Marriott Palm Jumeirah, please check twice what they say and ask everything being written down from the day-one.

Amazing experience at the Marriot Palm Resort. This is our 2nd visit in 2 years. After arriving after Umrah we were greeted with a lovely cake and card in our rooms. My little boy developed an infection on his leg and they came during the night to provide medication. Excellent service. Love the location, the food, the pools.
