The hotel

Boasting the world's most famous zip code 90210, the Beverly Hilton is the home of the Golden Globe awards every January, making it one of the premier places to see and be seen. This hotel is a favourite with the stars, a glittering landmark since the 50s that has hosted the likes of Marilyn Monroe and is also where she received her Favourite Actress Golden Globe in 1962. A walk through the corridors will give you an idea of the glamour and fame that have also passed through over the years, all of the pictures were taken in the hotel itself. Guest rooms are large and most have a terrace or city views, whilst each room is fitted out with a tablet to allow you to order room service and other guest services. The pool terrace is spacious with plenty of areas to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Theres a fire pit for cooler nights, and the pool itself is the largest in Beverly Hills. After working up an appetite you can head to CIRCA 55 for casual dining, but there’s lots of choice nearby too.

Stayed there for 4 nights with an assumption it will be decent place to stay. On the contrary it turned out to be bit of a trouble. It’s a great property etc but the staff could handle it better. I remember sharing my views with Sandy who was GM back then but not sure if she acted on it.

Wow! Just Wow! From the first greeting at Valet Parking to check in service was exceptional. We were warned that the premises is undergoing a make over before we booked and the check in made sure we had a room that with the least noise and distribution from this! Venue was lovely, kudos to the manager , Jeffrey Davis, for help making our evening special. Jeffrey should be commended for creating a welcoming atmosphere., and we’re looking forward to another evening at your hotel. The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious.

“Pardon our dust” is what the Beverly Hilton’s website says to describe the massive amount of construction at this property. I am currently staying at this hotel and writing this review in my dark room because there is a “scheduled power outage” from 9am on. While the power outage was scheduled, we were not notified until check-in, at which point it was too late to find another hotel. The woman at the front desk counter told us there was a backup generator, which led us to believe we wouldn't literally be in the dark. So many things, including the pool, are closed and the customer service is terrible. The “oasis pool” that is intended to be a replacement for the real pool, which is closed, is worse than a motel pool with fake turf grass - not your classic Beverly Hills experience, especially for the price. To help my wife get ready for the day in our pitch black bathroom, we were offered flashlights. I was then told that they had already given the working flashlights to other guests. This is not how we imagined kicking off our honeymoon. With so many options in the area, I recommend re-thinking staying at the Beverly Hilton and having to “pardon their dust.” Read less

Now I have a house in LA, I do not stay in LA hotels anymore. A little while ago*, my best from Germany invited me for breakfast - and I was once again shocked by both quality and service attention. I had the breakfast sandwich with extra bacon which was the soggiest I have seen in years. I could not touch it. The restaurant manager came to our table and chatted with Mrs. Anders, obviously looking at my plate - and left without caring. Then, the waiter asked if he may clear the table - and shrugged at my comment "Sorry, I could not eat that". I understand and appreciate (a) the Anders family emotional attachment and (b) the way you took care of the family during their stay in a brutal construction zone with a pool area that drove them out of the house, but I other than like years before, where I put all my artists and media guests in your hotel, I can barely recommend a stay in your hotel and, worse, the restaurant, as any of my past experiences were sub-par, to say it politely. * I wrote this the day after my breakfast and sent it to the hotel manager I had met the day before, trying to hear an apology and see what they would do to improve. I used to love this place and used it as my secondary home for months, so I sent it three times. No response - shows how right I was with my opinion that they lost it. So sad. Read less
