Image of the Tripadvisor rating Spectacular view in a beautiful property

The showstopper about this hotel is the spectacular view. I was on the fourth floor and my bedroom had an amazing view of the water and the marina. Also, big shout out to the wonderful staff. Everyone was so kind and fun. The rooms are a little bit dated, but they’re big, have beautiful views and the staff is great. I also appreciate that it’s not… Read more

Room is spacious. Wonderful first impression. Huge bed. Slept peacefully. Bathroom huge. Huge bathtub. Beautifully done. Large balcony overlooking the bay. Chairs make it comfortable to sit outside. Valet parking. Easy. Don’t need a car. Lots of restaurants. Perfect location just to cool.

I stayed at the Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa for two nights in a Harbor View Room. Although this is a historic hotel, it’s described as contemporary in advertisements. I stayed at the Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa for two nights in a Harbor View Room. Although this is a historic hotel, it’s described as contemporary in advertisements. If I’m honest, the hotel is not as contemporary as I would have liked. Pros: I arrived hours before the official check-in time and my room was available. I truly appreciated not having to wait for a room. Overall, the hotel staff was kind. My room was very clean. Housekeeping does a phenomenal job of keeping the property clean. The location is unbeatable. Cons: The room had an odd smell. It wasn’t a foul odor, but odd nonetheless. The four poster bed was a nice touch. Sadly, the mattress wasn’t comfortable. The bathroom showed signs of wear and tear. The tile in the shower was crumbling and obvious attempts had been made to patch the tile. A piece of the shower fixture was missing. For the nightly rate that I paid, I expected frills. Unfortunately, there were none. I would consider staying here again if the mattresses were upgraded, fixtures updated, and tile replaced. All in all, it’s time for a refresh. Read less

Having stayed in San Francisco twice before, during one of our Bike rides over the Golden gate bridge, we ended up in Sausalito and have loved it ever since. The Casa Madrona is a truly beautiful boutique hotel opposite the harbour and a short walk from the Ferry dock and all the shops and restaurants in town. We stayed in a Hillside bunglow and had a nice balcony to watch the world go by. The staff and cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and Poggio Italian restaurant was directly attached to the hotel. Rather thab get the ferry to San Francisco for the excurisions and days out, we used uber direct from the hotel and cost around $28 each way and considering the ferry was $30 per couple each way, was a quicker way into Fishermans Wharf and the city taking roughly 15 mins. Our intention was to do the tourist trips in San Francisco , such as Alcatraz , pier 39 , Trams etc, but being based in Sausalito made it easier to venture further up the coastline to Sonoma valley and the Wine estates. Having been to San Francisco 3 times now, i would not return. However, we will go back to Sausalito and the Casa Madrona Hotel. Read less
