Legend lives on at The Peabody, Memphis’s grandest address. Deep in the downtown district, it’s just blocks from the relics of rock ‘n’ roll and blues that made Memphis famous, including Beale Street, Gibson Guitar Factory, Sun Studio, and Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. Its most famous residents arrived in 1933, when the General Manager put his hunting decoy ducks in the fountain after a tipple or two of Tennessee whiskey. In 1940, a circus trainer taught them to ‘march’ and they still perform twice a day for guests (needless to say, duck isn’t on the menu here). That’s not the only custom that lives on, there’s the Peabody Afternoon Tea, the extravagant Sunday Brunch, and the simple tradition of indulgence, with the 5 restaurants and bars, Grecian-style pool and whirlpool, summertime rooftop parties, and Feathers Spa.

When I decided to stay the night in Memphis I had no clue where to stay but stumbled upon The Peabody and they had a great room available! It’s an older hotel with lots of charm. The bed was super comfy and the room had a great view! And don’t forget to watch the March of the Ducks in the morning before you leave!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Professional staff, and the ducks an joy to watch. Best hotel during our recent stay in America. Great location, used an Uber to get to Gracelands and Sun studios. You could walk to Sun studios if you want 10 - 15 mims. Well done, highly recommend.

We were about 200 at a professional meeting. It was perfect. Our BB King evening event was but a two-block block walk from this classy hotel, it was an easy airport-to-hotel cab ride, the meeting buffets in the hotel were excellent, and the price for the accommodations was a bargain.

The Peabody is a great Southern Dame! The hotel is worth going out of your way to visit and stay a while. I would plan a trip to Memphis just to stay there. The staff are awesome throughout the entire hotel and conference areas!
