Our recent stay at the Nashville resort was a mix of positives and major disappointments. The “ICE!” events were a highlight, and the atrium spaces were stunning, especially with the festive Christmas decorations. Dining at The Old Hickory restaurant was also a memorable experience with excellent food and service. Unfortunately, the room was a complete letdown. There was rust around the bathroom door, cracked and peeling ceiling paint above the bathtub (which we documented with photos), and an unpleasant musty smell. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, feeling like a pile of old blankets. To make matters worse, the room lacked soundproofing, and we could hear every conversation in the hallway. The sleepless night left us exhausted, and the conditions were so unbearable that we decided to leave by 9 PM on the second night—even though we paid $1,500 for two nights. Adding insult to injury, we were charged $37 per day for parking. For the price of staying on the property, it’s ridiculous to pay extra for parking. Overall, this was the most expensive and frustrating hotel experience we’ve had. If we ever visit again, we’ll stay elsewhere and come only to enjoy the attractions. Save your money! Also, don’t book through “Hotels.com”! After posting my review from above on their website, they removed it (screen grab attached), after I expressed my disappointment for them not doing their “due diligence” to ensure customer satisfaction! NO Longer recommended for the elderly or those with small children. Ten years of coming to the Gaylord this will be the last. My mother requires regular meals in order to take her medication certain times of day. This hotel has nothing available to eat even if you stay as a guest at $500 per night!!! We asked about restaurants when booking and were told “hotel guests get priority seating”! Sounds great! The hostess at the Mexican restaurant with a two hour wait said “I asked my manager and that is NOT a policy of the hotel”!!??? So we tried to get help from the app! NO help either. They texted us that it’s extremely busy and it cannot be helped. We tried ordering room service!!! NOPE too!! Room service at 8:30 in the morning said delivery was not available until 12:30 pm!!! Then if that wasn’t insulting enough, then they sent a message that our order could not be filled because the “kitchen closes at 11 am”!!!?? Then we asked the valet if there was ANY OTHER OPTION and he responded “this time of year you’re best bet is Uber Eats”!!! I thought posting a bad review would trigger them to reach out and help us find a resumption! NOPE AGAIN! Not a single word! In fact, TWO of the posts that I posted on Facebook about massive overcrowding and lack of compassion for the guests, the one and only TERRI CLARK the country music legend jumped on Facebook and LOVED my post criticizing the hotel. The most impressive part is, she is actually performing at the Gaylord for the Xmas holidays!! Love her so much for loving my criticism of what is obviously a serious lack of concern for the guests. She would be ONLY THE THIRD PERSON employed by Gaylord that has contributed anything positive to this trip. The others HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE!! Imagine saying merry Christmas 57 times and only two employees of the hotel say it back! Congrats to Lisa at the ICE exhibit for saying it when I thought all was lost here. Also I would like to thank the two gentlemen that worked the bumper cars, both of them could not be more helpful. The rest of the staff seems to already be on vacation or lost their empathy for humanity altogether. The common theme here seems to simply pass the buck to some mystery person that never seems to arrive or have anything but “it’s too crowded” as an answer to why nothing can be done with ease or at all. To the management of the Gaylord. This was once one of the wonders of the world. Today it is somewhere between the crowds at Disney World combined with the endless attitude of CAN’T DO! I would take a hard look at your staff and do a quick survey of employee attitudes, and I know you will either already know the results or incredibly surprised how badly most have acted or treated the guests. We recently stayed at the resort in Nashville, and it was definitely a mixed bag. The inside spaces are amazing to behold, and it's decorated to the hilt for Christmas. We recently stayed at the resort in Nashville, and it was definitely a mixed bag. The inside spaces are amazing to behold, and it's decorated to the hilt for Christmas. The Ice! experience was cool (literally, it was 9 F inside), the shows we saw were good, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and engaging. As a Marriott member, I was allowed to upgrade. The "upgrade" was from a 6th floor room (I assume with an exterior view) to a 1st floor room with an interior "view". Well, other than quick access to the rest of the resort, that upgrade was anything but. The view was obstructed by the support pillar, and the bed was a murphy bed! In addition, there must've been no sound proofing at all because we could hear everything. For it to be an upgrade, I would've expected one of the balcony rooms with a real bed. The Country Music Christmas dinner, which was excellent, we almost missed because part of the hotel is under construction which meant that the straight path to the event area was blocked, and the Gaylord app, which was supposed to provide directions, just kept taking us in circles. Fortunately, one of the hotel employees gave us excellent directions on how to get to the show. Read less

We were just sightseeing for Christmas. It was beautiful. Spent 4 hours walking around the different areas. We had lots of pictures ops. I ate from the Stax and my friend had The Chicken Pickens. We took the little river boat cruise. We loved it all

I am very disappointed in the customer service here, or lack thereof. I booked a weekend getaway for my sister as a wedding gift. I was very clear that I did not want her to be charged anything and I did not want her to see how much I had paid. This past weekend, upon check in, she was asked to put a card down for incidentals. Upom checkout. She was told she was all set, but the next day she was charged over $700! I called the hotel yesterday and was told it would take 5-7 business days to reverse the charge. Not an ideal solution, having her funds tied up for a week, especially at Chrismtas time. Also, I am extremely unhappy that she knows I paid over $1400 for her 2 night stay. It was an expensive gift and I did not want her to see that total. Also, her room was in the absolute furthest corner of the hotel, not near anything. Given the price, I really expected better. The attitude I recieved was less apologetic and more "it is what it is." Very disappointing. Read less
