This is our 4th time here. I was a bit worried about the Outrigger purchase, but I see that not much changed, except for the ridiculous resort fee. I simply love this place. Excellent location as it is very close to the black rock for snorkeling and Whaler's Village for dining. The courtyard is like a garden in heaven. As always they did, they… Read more

As always they did, they upgraded our room for free because it was simply available. Very nice & cheerful workers. This is my favorite hotel in Kaanapali area. I hope I can visit here in the future. We finally made it to Maui after cancelling in March 2020. This was a celebration for our 35th anniversary as well as a trip I have dreamt of since I was a little girl. The Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Resort suited us perfectly. We felt welcomed as soon as we pulled up to check-in as the valet attendant greeted us immediately. Check-in was handled in a welcoming and pleasant manner. We chose an ocean front premium room and received one on the fifth floor and had a corner room. We walked in and immediately felt comfortable and were so glad we chose this type of room. It was very nice. The walk in shower was huge and it was nice to have a private toilet area separate from the bathroom. Sitting on the balcony during our eleven night stay was a treat. And our housekeeper was a gem. I wish I would have written this review as soon as we got home as I knew her name, but now my memory is fading, it was MJ or MC. She is to be commended for the thorough job she did as well as her kindness when she saw us. We loved the grounds of the resort. They have loungers scattered throughout the grassy area and it was peaceful sitting there to read and nap. There was no cost for those loungers as I assume they are considered part of the resort fee. We did rent the canopied loungers on the beach that seat two for a few days. It was very relaxing and provided shade. However, any loungers on the beach are rented through a third party at the hut. We thought all options for rentals were quite expensive. The onsite Maui Brewing Company had delicious burgers and root beer floats. I don’t drink and my husband prefers Coors Light and Dos Equis so he didn’t purchase many beers there. We simply purchased them at Safeway and stored them in the room fridge. The staff at the Brewery were also nice. Everyone we came into contact with at the resort treated us well. We would definitely recommend this resort to others traveling to Maui. The location was perfect for our first visit and allowed us to walk a long way in both directions. We really did enjoy our entire stay. Read less

The rooms were lovely and did not disappoint. We loved lounging around the pool and in the beautiful grassy areas throughout the resort. It is the feeling of a traditional Hawaiian hotel filled with culture and great old fashion customer service. We loved its close proximity to Black Rock for snorkeling as well as the Whalers Village for restaurants and shopping. A big shout out to Selina at the front desk who warmly greeted us at checked in and Mildred who prepped and maintained our room. The Maui Brewing Company restaurant on site was super convenient for lunches and dinners and meals poolside. Parking was super convenient. We enjoyed the laid back relaxing atmosphere! It’s not often that I am surprised by a hotel. But this one surprised me in a multitude of ways. 1) Location!!! Not only are you literally steps from the sand, but also just a short walk to one of the best if not the best snorkeling on the island. 2) The property! The trees on the property provide such a relaxing atmosphere. With shade and hammocks, the sounds of the birds and the waves, and you have the perfect place to unwind. 3) The rooms! We were in the recently renovated wing with its homage to the history of Hawaii and the importance of its connection to the people and its culture. Little touches from custom made art work to the patterns in the carpet, you feel so at home. I also got a sneak peak at their newest rooms (stay tuned) that have more of a sea vibe with shades of blues and teal. Absolutely gorgeous, with so many little touches that say “We are Maui” 4) The Culture Center! I have saved the best for last. While for many Hawaii has become the land of sand and sun, but to the people of Hawaii it is their home, and they have welcomed us to it. The culture center brings with it a new awareness of what Ohana really means. This is one of those areas unique to this property and the reason people come back time after time after time. Let the Outrigger Ka’anapali Beach family welcome you into their home. Read less
