I stayed at this hotel during the Christmas season for our second family trip. My wife and I had an excellent experience during our first visit, which is why we chose to return. Unfortunately, our second stay was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Firstly, the parking situation was a nightmare. Despite charging $55 per night for parking, finding a spot was nearly impossible. On one occasion, there were no spots available, and we were forced to use valet. When I asked if I would need to pay the additional cost for valet service, the parking staff shrugged it off, saying it wasn’t their responsibility and advised me to address it with the front desk. This led to an exhausting ordeal. I waited 30 minutes to an hour just to hand over my car keys to the valet, as there were so many cars ahead of me. After that, I spent another 30 minutes at the front desk trying to resolve the issue and have the extra valet fee waived. This experience was especially taxing after a long day of exploring the island. My pregnant wife and I were completely drained, and the last thing we needed was such poor service and disorganization. In hindsight, my friends were right—spending a little extra for the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort would have been worth it. I will definitely choose the Sheraton next time and will never return to this hotel. Read less

This hotel needs a lot of TLC. This does not meet the typical standards of other Hyatt hotels I have stayed at. The room, furniture and bathroom were banged up pretty good. It reminded me of a hotel that was a teenager party spot. If you are more into the beach and Honolulu, you may not mind.

It is the second time we stayed in Hyatt Regency Waikiki. The location of the hotel is great. The service of the hotel is also as good as usual. However, there is construction behind the building, which makes a lot of noise during the day time. If you are not a morning person, be aware of the inconvenience before your vacation.

Avoid booking this hotel for the next 6 months, there is major construction right next door. I paid around $400 a night for a pre-holiday break, and they put us directly above a new hotel construction site. we stayed in room 4017 on the 40th floor and the daytime noise was unbearable. I can't imagine what lower floors would be like. This seems to b the only hotel in the whole Waikiki area that has major construction right next door so please stay away. There was a tower crane right outside and major concrete pours daily. Website are not warning you of the major construction and the hotel did not give any warning when we made our reservation. If we could give zero stars we would. Read less
