The hotel

Set against the majestic Ko’olau Mountains and overlooking Waikiki Beach, this Sheraton hotel is a real slice of heaven. With sun, sea and sand on your doorstep, indulge in water sports, land sports, wining and dining or simply stake your place in the shade and relax. There are two incredible oceanfront pools: an infinity pool for the adults, a very serene place, or family-friendly Helumoa Pool where the kids can splash to their hearts content. If a spot of pampering appeals, head to Spa Khakara for a couples massage or an individual beauty treatment. Hungry? Kai Market serves farm-to-table fare that showcases the flavours of Hawaii perfectly. It also enjoys amazing views of Diamond Head and the Pacific – a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds! Alternatively, Rum Fire is the sensuous new spot for tapas and cocktails – boasting the country’s largest selection of vintage rum and playing live island melodies each evening. The Edge of Waikiki lives up to its name – set on the beach, it’s the perfect spot to admire the sunset over a tropical thirst quencher.

Disappointing. Location excellent. Bellman, Front desk and housekeeping were excellent. Room was great-excellent ocean front room 31st floor. Odd our king bedroom had extra weird queen bed. Disappointing. Location excellent. Bellman, Front desk and housekeeping were excellent. Room was great-excellent ocean front room 31st floor. Odd our king bedroom had extra weird queen bed. Made room crowded and no room for end table next to the bed. we had to take small patio table inside to put next to bed. There was no sofa/couch for us to sit together. Bathroom vanity had no counter space. Biggest negatives. FYI if you rent a car the parking is extremely expensive!! $55 a Day!! Not enough restaurants or bars. Rum Fire was closed due to private event. That left the small The Edge by pool with grumpy bartenders who showed no effort, attention or fun. Food was not great. limited menu. The Kai market always had a long line and there was no buffet, which would have helped handle crowds. No Room service! So your only choice was to stand at the Edge bar and order to go. not fun. Biggest disappointment was the pool area. Extremely crowded. no spots. and folks hogged chairs all day. FYI get down to pool by 7:30 am or you won't get a chair. Biggest disappointment was the pool area/hot tub. at least 10 tiny kids in it all the time. Gross. We all know what little kids do in a hot tub. We did not go in and were disappointed because we were looking forward to a cocktail and hang out in hot tub relaxing. Unfortunately the Sheraton is not for couples looking for a peaceful/zen chill place. It was crowded and loud. Read less

Great location, very nice staff. We met Jennifer at Check-in. She so nice and friendly. I love checking into a hotel, and seeing the staff so welcoming. Good touch on starting a vacation. Our room had a great view of Diamond Head. Probably on of the best hotels we’ve stayed at for the views. Honolulu Coffee Company is located near the pool and there is a kiosk at the hotel entrance circle. We love this coffee. The Edge of Waikiki bar is super convenient. There is a side take out station, where you can easily order drinks. It’s very organized and they have a dedicated bartender working that area. I wish all bars had this. Minus 1 star for internet speed. Even with my Bonvoy status, I was only getting about 41 Mbps. So best way to stream is to use their apps on the tv or download on iPad then watch. Infinity pool area can get busy. Sad that people save their seat with a towel (or a book) then leave to go eat breakfast/lunch. Marriott should consider a time limit of leaving a lounge chair. Just posting a sign would help from people doing this. House keeping staff is very friendly. They are always eager and willing to clean the room, or give you more towels or other toiletries. Don’t forget to tip them. They deserve it. We’ll definitely be back here. The staff is fantastic. Read less

The Sheraton Waikiki is in an excellent location right on the beach and is one of the few hotels that has an adult only pool area. The amenities are excellent. The staff was friendly and my Gold Status with Marriott was recognized. The rooms are large and spacious with good views of the ocean. However, the cleanliness of my room was below expectation and unsatisfactory when I first checked in. There was a long strand of hair on the toilet and the shower curtain had a very strong foul and sour odor, most likely from mildew. I had to keep the bathroom door closed the entire time to prevent the odor from permeating into the rest of the room. On my second night, I had housekeeping replace the shower curtains and then the smell was eliminated. Additionally, the majority of the pillows in my room smelled like body odor and old sweat. I had the privacy sign hanging on my door on the second day. However, housekeeping disregarded the sign, entered my room, and cleaned my room despite my request for privacy. This is very alarming for a hotel and is unacceptable. Poolside service was mediocre. I had to walk to the bar and seek someone out for service (after waiting for an hour for a poolside server to come over to take my order for food/drinks) despite paying for a water lounger. The staff at the bar told me they were short-staffed and only had 2 poolside servers. I ordered at the bar and had to carry my meal and drinks back to my water lounger. This is not the type of service I expect at a hotel of this level. Overall, the location of the hotel and the amenities are the best part. Otherwise, I would not recommend staying here due to poor poolside service, lack of cleanliness of the rooms, and disregard for the guests' privacy requests. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating I’ll definitely come back to the Sheraton in Oahu. Beautiful pool, great restaurant and beautiful views all over the pro

We enjoyed having Roger as our room cleaner, he was very thorough very nice and would recommend him. When was comfortable and always very clean. All facets of the stay were great food, concierge, and amenities. We would definitely want to go to a Sheraton property on any of the islands.

There was a water slide, a smaller slide for the younger kid. Just to let you know NEVER go swimming near rocks, I got hit into a rock but lucky me there was a Medical Center in the hotel. The beach is really nice, but the waves can get really big. Read less
