This hotel did not notify anyone that there is currently a labor strike going on. Hundreds of people are outside this property holding signs and picketing and shouting. There are very few workers inside the hotel and apparently they are all temporary workers who don’t know how to do their jobs. The rooms don’t get clean, the restaurants are closed, the front desk people don’t know anything. Yet the price is still high and the resort fee is still high also. Don’t expect to get any sleep with all the noise from the protesters going on outside. They said that they’ve only been offered $.30 an hour raise in four years so that is the reason why they are striking. This is ridiculous all around. Read less

(In their defense there was a huge labor strike happening in front of the hotel) That said, I think they should have emailed their reservations to advise them of that. (In their defense there was a huge labor strike happening in front of the hotel) That said, I think they should have emailed their reservations to advise them of that. These people had bullhorns and loud speakers blasting into the parking structure and hotel 24 hours a day! The good: the robes were nice but you had to call and ask for them. Parking is free. They have several Tesla chargers. Nice view towards the airport if you’re into plan watching. Free ice. The bad: quite a bit. The food at their 24 hour diner was so salty, you couldn’t eat it. The food at the Italian restaurant was good but very expensive. The towels are not good….they are thread bare and look over used. Nothing in the room worked properly. The light dimmers did not work and the lights were so bright we ended up turning the lights off most of the time. The plug in the vanity did not work. We asked for maintenance. They never came. There was mold in the shower and none of the maids understood any of our requests. None of the furniture made sense - they have a “dresser”in the bedroom that has no drawers and doesn’t open…strange! There was some sort of shortage on glasses. We only had two clean glasses for a four day stay. I ended up taking glasses from the casino up to our room. The room service was not available at this time, which had we have known before we came, we would not have stayed there. Also, the refer and mini bar on the credenza are weighted, you can touch anything and there is no room to store any food in the refer. We did not use the pool because it was December and cold. Using the video check out was difficult and I never received a bill via email. I eventually contacted the hotel to receive a bill. The rideshare parking is off the front past the valet, and you stand outside with no heaters. The location is close to UNLV but you wouldn’t walk, the area is not great and everywhere you want to go is a $15 or more cab ride. The resort fees are way too high for what you get. Read less

I really wanted to love it….. But I didn’t. :-( The location is fairly far from the Strip and happens to be at the end of the airport runway, so noise is fairly significant when outside and Ubers are required every time you want to go somewhere (although no noise when indoors). This isn’t the hotels fault, it’s mine for not doing my research properly. I didn’t feel the hotel offered the unique virgin experience you come to expect. Just because it has a Virgin sign, doesn’t make it any different to any other hotel in LV. The two disappointing aspects. 1. No room service offered, despite the hyper technical setup on the tv. I feel like they’ve gone one step further than most hotels with offering steaming services, on request items such as Laundry through the tv but completely forgotten (or intentionally left off) the basics people expect such as room service. 2. No tea or coffee offered in the room. This really is a must for most people. No one wants to wake up and hike down to Dunkin Donuts for their first coffee in the morning. I get the in house revenue but this point alone would make me stay somewhere else in future. The hotel was very quiet when I stayed, and hardly one person on the casino floor. I hope they do stick around, but things need to change if they want to find their place in the competitive LV market. Read less

Probably one of my worst hotel experiences. The tv didn't work, towels were old and definitely needed replacing, the hotel had an old vibe to it especially the look of the hallways, bed was decent but pillows were small and uncomfortable, and the worst was the low flow shower head. To elaborate on the shower head, there was only the hand held and not a main head. The hand held was positioned in the top corner of the tub and at its highest position, the water barely reached my shoulders and I'm hugging the corner of the tub. The other major issue I had wasn't with the hotel but in the morning about every 30 seconds or so you can hear airplanes and I was seriously considering forfeiting the money and getting another hotel. The hotel staff when I did need help was helpful. Brought me some extra towels and blankets. The strike did throw me off. I can't say the strike would prevent me from staying here in the future if I actually had a better experience because it was very annoying that the striking workers would berate and even cuss had customers when entering and leaving the hotel. I get you have an issue with the hotel but in the long run the customers are the only reason they're employed in the first place. I bet majority of the customers, myself included, didn't even know there was a strike until we got to the hotel. The three days I was there, the music didn't bother me but don't yell and cuss at my family when we're driving in and out. I sided with the hotel for all three days when I was there because of that. Housekeeping and service strike going on during our stay of 15 days with a 6 month old baby. I had planned to stay in the room while my son in law completed at the NFR and my daughter went to support him. I was left eating cheerios every night bc I could not get any room service! Restaurants were on a limited hour schedule and it was two weeks before Christmas and the hotel had not one decoration! Everything in the hotel is looking old and worn out. Such a shame bc it is so close to the Thomas and Mack and a nice small boutique like hotel. But needs renovations and cleaned up!!! And they should have given us a discount bc we certainly did not get what we were expecting when we booked the rooms! You had to beg to get the rooms cleaned and the towels felt like you are at a motel 6. For goodness sakes, upgrade the towels. These have been used and abused!!! Did I mention that the room above us smoked weed every night for 4 nights and ran us out of our room for about 3 hours bc the smell was so strong?? The rooms are nice and roomy in the Ruby tower, but the couches in the rooms look like they need to be replaced, or at least steam cleaned. We will not return unless the strike gets resolved and some upgrades are made! Come at your own risk! Read less
