Bellagio

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Epically romantic, you may recognise the luxurious Bellagio as George Clooney and crew’s scene-stealing co-star from Ocean’s Eleven. But then, thanks to its world-famous dancing fountains (some of which shoot 460ft into the Vegas sky), the Bellagio has a habit of making any night along The Strip an unforgettable event. Look beyond the eight-acre Lago di Como and you’ll find head-turning elegance in a hotel that’s inspired by a picturesque Italian village. Rooms and suites are sumptuous without being flashy, there’s a gallery of fine art with rotating exhibitions, five pools with a refreshing Mediterranean accent, O, Cirque du Soleil’s® water-based extravaganza.

This was great because I wasn't sure if there was a shuttle bus to the show. My spouse flew out Wednesday night to meet me for an extended weekend. Bellagio is reminesciant of old school Las Vegas. Nice rooms, classic casino, lots of restaurants, great service and done up with gold and glitter. The VIP check in area for MGM higher tiers and Bonvoy Ambassador was nice and added a nice touch of Luxury to check in and out. Read less

Great location, iconic property, aging rooms, poor customer experience at check-in. Unless you're a fan of the Bellagio, there are better choices for the value (e.g. Wynn, Encore, Cosmopolitan) Great location on the center strip and definitely an iconic hotel. Unfortunately, the property is now showing signs of aging, especially the rooms. The King room felt very outdated with the furniture showing signs of wear including spots and stains on the cushions. The only amenity that seemed upgraded was the minibar (which isn't surprising given that this is a source of revenue for the property). The bathroom is small and contains pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash shoe-horned into the shower--if you bring your own amenities you will have to place the provided ones somewhere else because the shower is so cramped and small. The room itself other than for sleeping doesn't provide a place to hang out with a partner or friends--there is only one chair to lounge on and the table only has one chair; the king room seems like a room for a business or solo traveler. The check-in experience is also poor: if any of the MGM systems are down (which it was when I arrived) you may find yourself standing in line for 30 minutes only to be told later to come back in three hours. There was some glass debris in the corner of the room when we checked in the room, i guess it was an accident from the previous guest, and the cleaning staff didn't clean it well. After a quick call of the front desk, a staff showed up in 5 min, cleaned everything. And then front desk apologized to us, with a $250 voucher, which is a complete surprise. A large hotel that deals with thousands of people will have mistakes, the key is how do you deal with the mistakes. Bellagio obviously knows this and treat it with high priority. They have a very mature procedure in place in case things happen. All in all, this is a trustworthy hotel. Read less

We called the Hotel Reservation number that is mentioned if the website 888.987.6667 and their reservation desk lady picked up and we asked for Fountains View premium KING bed on higher floor and the lady on the phone ensure its fountain view on higher floor. I asked her multiple time on the phone make sure its fountain view and each time she said YES paid for that . But to our surprise we when checked in on the Lobby. They gave us regular KING room in lower floor on 4th 4109 and the manager on the front desk and guy on the counter CHRIS told us to get the fountain view room we have to pay extra. And asking us to give the name of the person of Reservation desk, like are you kidding me we remember the name of reservation agent after 4 days .They were not at all accommodating and blaming us for a complimentary stay. When we booked the room we asked the lady is this FOUNTAIN VIEW we are OK with the charge. This is how pathetic Bellagio Hotel staff is, they messed up the booking at first place and blame guest for complementary stay. Worst Experience staying in Bellagio . Read less
