Excalibur

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

This good value on-strip casino hotel boasts an enormous pool area and is home to the must-see Tournament of Kings dinner show, complete with knights on horseback, jousting, pyrotechnics and Merlin himself. Las Vegas’s take on old England, the Excalibur would surprise the Knights of the Round Table. But that’s where it leaves England behind and takes on the world. There’s the all-American casino (with 100,000 sq ft of gaming), games arcade, and branch of Johnny Rockets’ famous hamburger chain. There’s Italy, Mexico and Asia (and a bit more America) in its casual restaurants and food court. And there’s Australia in its ‘Thunder from Down Under’ adult show and Australian Bee Gees tribute concert.

Upon check-in there were stains on the bedding, paper in the heater, no hand soap, the shampoo/shower gel was low, and overall, the place was horrible. Don't come if you absolutely don't have to. We called guest services and housekeeping around four time right when we arrived to fix some of the issues (like the stained bedding) and they never came. We arrived around 11 and then went out for the day. When we came back around 6:00 pm it still had not been resolved and we were charged a $200 security deposit. Which was not indicated to me prior to booking and is wayyy too much for this place. The ladies at the front desk placed us in another room that was equal in location but had been cleaned to a better standard. However, (and this is not on those ladies) I believe that we should have been upgraded or refunded. Read less

The reserve credits were helpful . My room was changed and no view compared to what I reserved…. The room was clean …. Didn’t realize that this was a non smoking property… at least not in the rooms . This was very awkward for my husband who is a smoker

Rude staff, overpriced everything, chlorine taste and smell in room water, hardly any servers on casino floor. For the amount of money spent, the rooms should have more amenities like a fridge and should be clean smelling. Never even saw a vacuum being used.

Pitiful experience. Stayed here since it seemed like a good price. Unfortunately, they nickle and dime you to death. $20 for parking .... even $20 a night if you want a refrigerator in your room. NO coffee maker in the room. (and we get up early, so we need to wait until 7am before one of the restaurants open up. AND, the room is dirty ... light… Read more

The hotel is fine, however, the guest rooms were in terrible condition. Not clean and smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The staff we interacted with were great. The breakfast/ brunch buffet although seemingly expensive was actually a good deal and the food choices and quality were excellent.
