The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

MGM Grand is a legend on the Las Vegas Stirp. And our experience here was again epic and transforming. We ate amazing food at Morimoto's and were pampered the entire time. Checkin through the VIP desk was flawless, and the VIP room was sweet. All of the staff we met were great also. The casino is large and makes it, so you feel like you have… Read more

Checkin through the VIP desk was flawless, and the VIP room was sweet. All of the staff we met were great also. The casino is large and makes it, so you feel like you have a cool and inviting choice right around the corner. It's a fixture in Las Vegas and I highly recommend it to everyone. Food, gaming, and more fabulous food! The players card loyalty program is top notch and also added to our experience. Read less

Cleaning staff on a Saturday comes down the hall loud as all hell breaking loose. No coffee maker in the room and to have 12oz delivered was $25 for 12oz!! Restaurants were really good but extremely loud and everything is ridiculously overpriced

Overall, there is a lot of options given the price point for the MGM Grand. A few things that stood out to me: 1. Noise isolation from noises from the hall and outside the hotel is non existent. 2. Resort fees $50 a night during the winter seasons when the pool is closed is insane. 3. This property does allow smoking on the floor and the air filter cannot keep up. 4. Hotel is going through renovation so construction noises are constant. 5. Air filter cartridge in the room looks like a dryer filter cartridge, needs TLC. Read less
