Visiting NYC for Christmas so the location is great. The rooms are a good size for NYC and are clean. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful; however they are wearing coats at the front desk because it is so cold in the lobby area. Marriott you really need to fix this and not have the staff working in this condition.

At $400 a night and they can’t provide any breakfast? The only thing on offer was a makeshift coffee counter with a few options similar to what you would find at an airport. Guest waited in a long line snaking throughout the lobby. It was a shambles. Also the lobby and common areas of the hotel were really cold.

If management just fired all the people who work here, the hotel would actually be really nice. The location is fantastic - right downtown, within walking distance to restaurants, delis, gym, etc. The rooms are much more spacious than anything I'd stayed in in Manhattan. But holy moly, the administration couldn't be more incompetent. After a long day of travel, I checked in and wanted to take a shower, only to find hair all over the bathtub and sink and floor so it was obvious the room hadn't been cleaned. So instead of moving me to a new room, they sent up housekeeping - at 10pm - to clean the bathtub in front of me, while I was trying to eat dinner and take a work call. Talk about awkward and disruptive. Then, they offered a measly set of points or $50 to compensate (mind you, the going rate for a hotel room is around $670-700/night. The whole thing felt like a poorly scripted dramedy, leaving me wondering if anyone at this property actually values their guests' experience. For the price, you’d expect top-notch service. Instead, you’ll likely leave with a lot of frustration and a story to tell. Avoid. Read less

Very nice hotel, great restaurant and nice small/quick breakfast options, great location by the subway… but charging $600+ per night for these rooms is obscene. Extremely dated, like something you would expect from an older Holiday Inn. Admittedly I’m a bit of a hotel snob and I understand it’s the season so rates and availability are affected, but I don’t know how they justify the cost here. The room was clean but: the beds are the smallest “double” beds I’ve ever seen (likely just a twin+, it was comical), outlet covers hanging off the wall, the towel holder on the bathroom door almost falling off, the sink was cracked, the water was brown when starting the shower (probably just rusty on the spout and hadn’t been run in a bit or whatever), no outlets by the beds except in between them or on the lamp, the mini fridge was so mini that it held maybe 2-3 bottles of water and didn’t even get cold, no chair to sit on (just the beds and a bench by the window) even though there’s plenty of space, the drapes don’t close completely/move on the track, and the deadbolt on the door didn’t work. The block did but if I had been traveling alone I wouldn’t have felt totally safe with just that. I would stay elsewhere next time but the good definitely outweighs the bad. The rooms just need to be brought current but, for as much as you’re in it, this might not be as important to some. TL;DR - Pros- the rooms are spacious and clean, all of the staff was so kind and helpful, from check in to front door/valet to housekeeping, the restaurant was nice and the food was good. $30 credit each day to use in the restaurant or market. Cons- the rooms are very dated, no room service, expensive. Read less

Wow, my first overnight trip to NYC and this hotel was really disappointing. I would not recommend unless you have no other option. The location is okay, the hotel is very spacious but lacks any character. The decor is quite dated and my room was not clean. Food not good. Coffee was probably the best thing about the hotel.
