The people at the front desk were nice. The room was pleasant. HOWEVER, it was very cold in the room and I had to contact the front desk to get it fixed. A person from maintenance did adjust it and the main room was better after he left. BUT NO HEAT IN THE BATHROOM (and I told him about that). NONE. And worse, the hot water did not work. It… Read more

Great value! My family and I travel a lot. We aren’t high maintenance. Good service comes from friendly front desk representatives and a clean room. That said, this property was fabulous. We arrived late, like 9:30-ish. Our family of three were blown away by our 2 Queen room. It was spacious and clean, with enough room to move around with luggage all over the floor. The beds were fine. We had enough towels. We were surprised to have our room serviced in the middle of our 2 night stay. Thank you! The staff was so kind to upgrade us to a higher floor room, too. There are two sets of elevators, which alleviates a wait during rush hours. The location is convenient, too. Quick taxi ride to and from LGA, and close to the 6 and E subways. Walking distance to most Midtown tourist destinations. Tip: pre-order your Ess-A-Bagel online in advance so you won’t have to wait in a long line. Note: we were originally supposed to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn around the corner, and changed our mind because no one would pick up the phone. I called 15 times to try to reach the front desk. Even had the reservations team at Hilton try to connect me and they were looped back multiple times. When I finally reached someone they explained they were too busy to answer their phones (at all hours of the day? Yikes!) In contrast, I called the Courtyard Midtown East once and someone answered my call on the first try. They were so great on the phone too! They have my business for the foreseeable future, should our travels take us to NYC. Read less

Excellent place to stay in New York City. It’s value for money and in an excellent location. The stuff is friendly and helpful. The quality of the beds is very good and the rooms are clean and convenient. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

It was WORN…faux leather pieces with big gouges, dingy wallpaper, dated carpet. The mattress on the bed did not seem old, just so cheap and hard. I prefer a firm mattress. This was not firm and supportive, so much as like lying down on a barely cushioned wooden slat. I’ll wait to learn of a refresh before I stay again. The room was very quiet, which we appreciated. For Manhattan, the rooms are large in size. The 12th floor has a common space with lots of room to hang out. The high floors are generally quiet. Maintenance items were voluminous. We went for two nights with two families. Our room had old gum ground into the carpet and the sleeper sofa was unusable as a bed due to discomfort and a metal bar across the middle. Our friend’s room had two non functioning lamps and a tv that went out. They advertise a restaurant but it is a small cafe open for breakfast only. They charge the rates of full service hotels with room service so we will not return. Read less
