The staff at the Club Lounge was outstanding. The day we arrived, we just mentioned that our son was turning 9 on the next day. On Saturday’s breakfast, Blanca surprised him with a cake and the birthday song. At night, Paulette surprised him with his favorite soup and a huge hug! He was so happy with the surprises! Beautiful property in a great location. Easy walk-ability to everything in the city. The hotel was decorated wonderfully for Christmas and my six year old was beyond excited. Our room had a wonderful view out to the bustling street below without the addition of too much noise. The bed was large and comfortable. My only concern was with the treatment I received at the Parlour Restaurant. My six year old, a friend and I sat down in the evening. We ordered two waters and a lemonade and the server was visibly irritated. Setting our drinks down we all said thank you and got no response. It wasn’t until we placed an alcohol and food order that she even addressed us verbally. This was a trip I planned thoughtfully for my son as he loves NYC and Christmas. If a hotel has such things as a “letters for Santa” mailbox and activities geared toward children staff should be accepting of parties of families. Read less

Excellent service. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Super comfortable bed. Loved the buffet breakfast. We enjoyed lounging in the lobby for cappuccinos or after dinner drinks. The lobby was so beautifully decorated for the holidays.

This was my first trip back to the Intercontinental Barclay in two decades. What a joy to return after the beautiful 2017 renovation. The lobby feels expansive with carpet and beautiful marble tiles. Everything is in line with the hotels unique heritage. Our room was beautifully appointed with a sweet gallery wall over the bed and a relaxing, lakeside mural on one end of the room. Room amenities were lovely and well placed and the bed was both comfortable and cozy. So ofter we return to a place only to find it's slipped somehow from our memory. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful comfort and welcoming feel and spirit of the old Barclay. We'll be back and fairly soon. Read less
