A nice hotel in a good location. Rooms are large and well appointed. Tile floor entry is a wow factor but it was a real slip danger. Some of the best in room amenities i be enjoyed. The bad….wifi was included but it never worked in my room. I told them shortly after check in on Friday and was told it would be fixed. Told them at dinner time that… Read more

The bad….wifi was included but it never worked in my room. I told them shortly after check in on Friday and was told it would be fixed. Told them at dinner time that it hadn’t been fixed, asked again multiple times on Saturday and on Sunday. On Monday still no one has come to fix it but they do offer me another room. Too much trouble at that point to move. I believe there are comparable hotels in the area that have better service. The bar/lounge prices were higher than most upscale NYC places. Manhattan was $29 and they add automatic tips on top. At Polo Bar and at St Regis Hotel the same drinks were $24 and we were free to add our tip. When we checked in there were no doormen nor valet parking attendants to help us. Same was true when we checked out. Read less

I love this area of midtown Manhattan - with great public transport access to most areas ( underground walk to Grand Central Station), relatively easy for taxi / uber and lots of great food and bar options near ( covering the full NYC price range). The hotel rooms are big and comfortable and the bar works well for food/ drink if you need it. The… Read more

I also complained to the front desk each night that this happened and nothing seemed to happen, other than my banging on the door seemed to help quieten their room Also I complained to the front desk each day that for the outrageous room rate that I paid, that there should be at least 2+ bottles of still water provided, upon which I was told that there was bottled still water in the mini-bar. I then said that the mini-bar was locked and was told that it would be remotely opened for me which also never happened. A very disappointing experience and it’s only the provenance of the hotel which gives it the title of “Intercontinental”…it’s by far the worst Intercontinental that I’ve ever stayed at, and will never stay at the Barclay again. My wife and I came back to New York City and the Intercontinental to celebrate our anniversary here and had a wonderful trip— Sophy at the front desk in particular made us feel so welcome! The room we had was spectacular, and the location is perfect.
