Some of the front desk needs to have a good training on customer service. For the amount of $$$ you pay the some of the staff should need to get a trained on customer service . If you are the globalist and you are using points I highly recommend to stay at Park Hyatt.

The Thompson is conveniently located for exploring the city’s top tourist attractions, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. It’s especially delightful around the holidays, with festive touches that add to the charm of the season. However, the lobby is underwhelming and doesn’t leave much of an impression. Most of the staff were friendly and professional, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, my overall experience was ruined by one concierge staff member, Kevin, whose behavior was both prejudiced and disrespectful. Simple questions, such as asking about the amenities, were met with unnecessary attitude. When I asked for his name, he refused to disclose it until I prompted him multiple times. While the hotel has its positives, I cannot recommend The Thompson due to this unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. Read less

Up there with the worst service I've ever received at a hotel. The individual at the check-in desk was rude, condescending, and bizarrely referred to me as 'boy' several times. We waited two hours for our bags to arrive. We made four phone calls asking where our luggage was and eventually went searching for it in the lobby. It was brought up 30 minutes later. We booked a studio suite with a pull out bed for our four year old child. No bed linens were provided and when we requested them it took five hours for them to arrive. Then a few hours later at 11pm we were woken up by someone banging on the door trying to deliver a second set of sheets. We tried to eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant. We waited 30 mins before leaving without even being brought a menu (we asked several times). The final insult was that despite paying in full when I made the reservation, I was 'accidentally' charged again when we checked out — an extra $1,600! Plenty of better options in the city. Read less

We had the worst experience with this hotel -12/22/24. This stay was booked weeks in advance. We checked in right at 3 pm only to wait for 2.5 to 3 hours for an available room. The Front office manager (Alexandra Lopin) mentioned that they had a linen problem, but had no reasonable timeline as to when we could access our room. When we decided to… Read more

The Front office manager (Alexandra Lopin) mentioned that they had a linen problem, but had no reasonable timeline as to when we could access our room. When we decided to cancel the stay, she apologized but had the gall to say she hoped we had a place to stay for the night. What a condescending apology. Beware booking here. If I can give this hotel NO stars, that would actually be the most appropriate rating they deserved. No amount of hotel credit can compensate the lost time and upending of our Christmas plans. The hotel has good location. Rooms are comfortable. My issue was service. The cleaning crew was great, but rest of staff could not care less.
