Room 2602. Just checked in. Doesn’t seem like the room has been dusted in a while. Check in process was fine. Feel like it’s more a mass market hotel. I’ve been a Bonvoy member for a while, yet no acknowledgement. Will be thinking twice before booking again.

During our recent trip to New York ,4 days, we had breakfast in the Westin hotel . Lovely hotel ,excellent friendly staff and to really make our day when we went to pay we were told they were giving us complimentary breakfast. Pat and Agnes, Ireland .

As confusing as this will be reading it, I have health issues as I only have one lung do to a car accident I was in 3 years ago and when I came out of the icu at NYU Hospital November of 2021, I was relearning the world after coma and partial amnesia alone and I needed to keep going to NYU for a month so I stayed here of all hotels. What a beautiful place and I mean that back then and now as I write this. Now this review is for the doormen of this hotel. I’ve seen a few doormen work here and they do their jobs wonderfully but the social ethical skills are bare none. They smile and are nice and will answer any questions but there is one very different gentleman, in a way where he will go out of his way to speak to you about what he sees as you walk in or by him. To clarify haha, I parked my car at 2 am checking in very late and I left my car out front to bring my bags in. As I am about to leave the car, the doorman, Hector, walks over to me and doesn’t say you can’t leave the car here or anything. He asks if he can hold the keys because if a car tried to pass such as car service, they might just go without caring if they fit through. I said sure. He then asked if I’m parking later I said yea he goes ok you can over night here. I said no it’s fine I’ll find a spot on the street taking his comment the NY born person way. I asked the price and said too much don’t worry about me. He so politely explains he is not adverting the parking to make me mad if I do not wish to it is just that the street parking is not possible and advised some other solutions. He did not have to do this and talk with me. Today the checkout day, I apologize to him as I got towed😂. He said it’s ok fight you’ll maybe win the money back you paid. Then he advised me on stuff going out his way before his shift is ending and it is night shift so he must be tired I’m thinking. He gave me so many tips and not to use only here but everywhere as my mind is still learning things I don’t remember. Hotel is spectacular. I’m no money person. I know it is crazy money but I did not even sleep the last night and just the first night here is great. The rooms are all shelf differently and it’s in a hotel level no one can surpass. Hector is the night time doorman. Ask him whatever you need or wonder or are questioning. He will go above his needs to help you settle whatever situation you are in. Great great man. Nothing like this Westin by grand central. Read less

The Westin New York Grand Central location is in a great location in NYC, making it accessible to many of the great sites via train and taxi. We had the opportunity to stay recently in this location, and the level of service provided from beginning to end was top-notch. We came for a long weekend to meet with family and felt more than appreciated due to my loyalty to Marriott Bonvoy. We were fortunate to stay on the highest floor possible in a premium corner king room with great city views. The bed and pillows were more than comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious to meet our needs. When coming down from the 40th floor, we did not experience any issue with the elevator, only a slight delay when other guests were waiting or trying to get to one. The buffet breakfast is great in the mornings. I would recommend getting there early, around 07:00 a.m. or no later than 09:00 p.m., since it can get a bit hectic, and you may need to make a line to get a table. You can either get something quick like a grab-and-go breakfast or wait to be sat at one of the tables for the breakfast buffet. Also, at night, the drinks are amazing, and we had a chance to enjoy them with family in some evenings. Overall, it is a great hotel, where staff are always willing to lend a helping hand and ensure that you are always treated right. I will definitely recommend this Marriott brand hotel to anyone who wants to explore the big city and easily connect to trains and other forms of transportation, in addition to the great service that is provided by them. Thank you to all the staff who helped us, especially the front desk, and everyone who made sure we were treated well during our entire stay. Read less

Even though its name is Grand Central, it's still quite a walking distance to Grand Central Station. Even though its name is Grand Central, it's still quite a walking distance to Grand Central Station. As an Ambassador Elite of Marriot Bonvoy, they were not even able to upgrade my room and one does not feel appreciated being a highest tier member of the group. It's quite preposterous that there are no water bottles in the room. Not even basic amenities like a toothbrush. We even had to call to ask for a kettle to boil some water. Front desk staff are not really that friendly. Otherwise the beds are okay. Water pressure for the shower room is low, may be this is regulated. A special mention of Eve from the Concierge is necessary for her kind assistance rendered. Will try another hotel next trip to NYC. Read less
