Hotel seems to be somewhat behind time. The best experience was contact with Victor, bellhop who was fantastic. He brought all of our luggage upstairs and even hung our coats in a closet. Hotel seems to be somewhat behind time. The best experience was contact with Victor, bellhop who was fantastic. He brought all of our luggage upstairs and even hung our coats in a closet. We were in room 1418 where they have broken metal shelf that damaged my $100 Cashmere scarf. I brought the problem to the manager who promised that he will call me and let me know how they are going to take care of the problem/damage that "they caused" - NOBODY CALLED. I also sent them an email asking for there resolution and no response. I hate nothing more than people who don't take responsibility for something that they do wrong. As wonderful Victor was the bellhop on Monday was completely useless. I was dragging heavy carry on as well as a huge suitcase and he did not move to help me. I guess it was because it was very windy that day. Due to me dragging the luggage I actually hurt myself and was suffering for a week with the pain. It needs to be known that toilet is very low and might be difficult for elderly as we are. The good thing is that there is little kitchenette and little fridge. Bed is comfortable and drapes are useful if one wants to sleep in. Even though I became the member I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Read less

Nice and simple room for a quick business trip. Good value midweek. Very functional. Nice bedding and towels. Funny view of roof and other buildings. Check in staff were very helpful. Great location and walking distance to everything. Recommend a trip to Zabar's and Gray's Papaya.

We've been staying at Hotel Beacon annually 8 out of the last 10 years. We always look at other hotels before we book, but the value cannot be beat. We usually travel with our college aged sons & need the space of the family suites, one of the only hotels in Manhattan who has them. We live like locals. We usually travel with our college aged sons & need the space of the family suites, one of the only hotels in Manhattan who has them. We live like locals. Our first stop is always Trader Joe's to stock the kitchen for our stay. We buy her wine and my bourbon at Beacon Wines & Spirits next door. And take our daily strolls through Central Park. One of the best features of this hotel is its proximity to the 72nd St Subway station which has an express line to Times Square. You can be anywhere in the city in less than 20 minutes. And once you return from shopping or shows, you'll appreciate the relative tranquility of the Upper West Side as you aren't navigating mobs of people! A nice bonus this year was to be placed in a newly renovated room, it was outstanding. We're already looking forward to returning to our home away from home next year! Read less

We had one issue with one of the two TVs and they came and fixed it the next day so all good. Great service. The self laundry on level 5 needed quarters (for detergent) and a credit card or phone for payment. But was easy and quick. We had a room facing the street/ Fairway Market. Close by was Fairway Market, CVS, Freddie & Peppers pizza, Levain Bakery and 72nd St Metro. Soooooo good for getting around. Central Park was 2 blocks away and so good. We ended up walking about 18,000 steps a day so bring good shoes. Room was cleaned, beds remade, dishes cleaned, bathroom towels replaced every day. Such a godsend. Read less

We just returned after a 4 night stay with our Sunrise Tour group. It was an excellent hotel with maid service every day. We even ate left overs and she cleaned the dishes for us the next day. Everyone at the front desk was AMAZING and Jett called a cab for me and told the driver exactly where to drop me off. Great location with Fairway Market… Read more
